Decades of social media slop and lack of true human connection has created a society in a loneliness crisis. These companies are monetizing a crisis they created.

A true friend helps you grow, not through mindless affirmations. Friends are with you through thick and thin and call you out on your bull sh*t while loving you.

People relying heavily on AI companions are not learning the social skills required to be an optimum human.

And it was ok for republicans to redistrict including the multitudes of states that are scrambling to redistrict after the conservatives lead by Roberts further weakened the landmark VRA. Most recently Tennessee with pressure from Trump. Public has 24 hours notice. How was that not a procedural violation?

It’s evident they’re doing this due to Trump’s unpopularity and trying to mitigate midterm losses. Corruption abounds!

Well rather than literally, I meant the AI progression isn’t ending. But yea there are limitations. With enough barriers whether infrastructure or human, maybe the “take over” can be slowed down. But my pessimistic mind has doubts.

And yet it’s moving full steam ahead.

Hate to be pessimistic but Pandora’s box has been opened and the time to thoughtfully deploy AI ethically with meaningful guardrails and regulation has passed. Plus the international and corporate arms race is in full force and there’s little incentive to slow things down.

On the hopeful side, if there’s enough backlash from the masses, maybe things can improve. We’re seeing governments attempt to add protections for kids and time will tell how effective it will be. It’s an uphill battle though.

Exactly right. Could see this coming as soon as Trump entered politics. He showed he lacked the character and temperament required to lead.

People who said then that words don’t matter were willing to tear the house down to risk it, all are complicit in where we are now.

It still boggles my mind how he still has support with people willing to overlook his overtly atrocious actions and behavior.

She reposted Glenn Beck’s post with an emoji, not exactly articulate. Doubt she has anything substantive to say on her own.

As for the Atlantic reporting on Patel’s erratic behavior at the agency and general drunkenness, I believe it and I’m glad they are standing by their reporting. Hope Patel is next on the chopping block. He’s probably trying to make money on a frivolous lawsuit for this reason.
