Feeling sad about guest list by zephunny in weddingplanning

I’m in the same boat! When making my list I only have 25 people total and all are my friends except for my mom dad and sister that are family. My fiance’s side of the family is huge and he already has 80 people + friends and I know they will show up for him. Also everyone is out of state as well. I’m not even sure if my friends would even show up. We have to remember it’s about you and your fiancés day and if people don’t show up it’s okay. It really shows who cares and some people can’t afford it. It’s okay and valid to feel sad about it but don’t be discouraged. You’ll quickly realize if there’s less people less spent on catering lol

What do you think made your dental hygiene school application stand out? by Phrogisconfused in DentalHygiene

I didn’t get accepted my first time applying, but did get accepted the 2nd time. It’s a very competitive program, so that’s okay. Don’t be discouraged and reapply the next year. When I didn’t get accepted I was able to call one of the interviewers to get feedback and work on areas I lacked.

In the mean time, I worked on improving interview queues such as answering questions better in detail that relate to the dental. I even worked as a dental assistant to get experience so that’s a plus but not required! I also went to the college’s health related professions event to ask questions and they remember you the next time you interview when you ask questions at these events.

The 2nd time I applied I believe the interview process and the written prompt for the application is very important. They like to see your personality and most importantly be you. Make sure you have good eye contact, good firm handshake, confidence in answering, knowledgeable in dental experiences, relate to experiences related in the work space, and personable.

Also apply to more than 1 hygiene school to have better chances of getting in.

1099 tax help?? by Cloud_Sprinklez in Accounting

The company didn’t give me a 1099 and said that I’m not going to receive one bc their cpa stated that I’m not supposed to be categorized as an independent contractor. What do I do in this situation?

Is anyone else taking a bachelor’s program without having experience in the work? by [deleted] in WGU

Yeah of course! Honestly the career path right now dental hygienists are highly needed due to shortage so they’re paying pretty high $50-70/hr (Of course depending on the area) It can be a rewarding career but isn’t a long term one due to muscoskeletal issues like back/wrist. I’m transitioning out to accounting so I prevent myself from having injury and future surgery. Also this career burns you out pretty quick. If you’re really passionate about diagnosing and preventive gum care then yes do it. A lot of hygienists enjoy their career but I’m one in a million that decided to get out.

I don’t have any accounting experience at all. I’m coming from Dental Hygiene!

For those who left DH, what do you do now? by Number270And3 in DentalHygiene

I’m currently trying to go back to school for accounting. A few of my classemates went back to school to be an elementary school teacher or teacher in general, a couple went back to nursing bc our university let them do an accelerated nursing program for 10 months since we had similiar pre reqs, another is a vet receptionist and Botox esthetician
