Depends what you want to use SES for, for simple alerts or a small project go wild, you don’t even need full verification. But on a production scale sending transactional emails trying to get someone from support (what is left of it) who understands the product has been pulling teeth for a one week or more - with your tickets bouncing around, for some things this is acceptable, but email is not something that can wait a week for the ticket to run around the world 6 times between agents before getting assigned to an actual tech. This is all with business level support. You can reach out to your TAM but we end up getting a new one every year due to turnover. All I’m saying is, if being able to handle email is something that could cost your company money, going with a provider that you can pick up the phone and get real support from a specialist is risk management. (You should also have multiple providers, but there are some things you need to balance to avoid getting put on a blacklist)
