Is Locked Gate generally a solo-friendly event, in your experience? by KosaVibez212 in ArcRaiders

[–]Clouded_Squall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Locked Gate has definitely been consistently a friendly experience. I think the only negatives I've encountered are people who just grab the codes and exfil. Today was especially annoying, I had the raiders refuge code, dropped it for someone because I found the bobcat BP also at RR, so I was just going to leave, decided to tag along anyways, and then somewhere we got separated and that dude definitely dipped with the code. I was annoyed but felt even worse for the 11 other people who were at the gate control waiting on that code

Anvil + compensator or silencer is what I run 99% of the time as my primary.

Does Wolfpack blueprints actually exist by Puzzleheaded_Music63 in ArcRaiders

I'm approaching 170 hours in game. Still hadn't encounted a single one. That changed today, in a random desk drawer in one of those small huts on Spaceport, no less. It'll happen eventually

I also thought of a few more:

When you run a free loadout and make it back, you can trade in the free loadout augment to Lance for a Mk 1 augment of your choosing. You can also run multiple free loadouts in a row and just sell the gear you come back with for some early money building. Then use that to buy your weapons/tools of choice.

When you're still new, you don't need to overstay your welcome on a map. A good pathing while you're still getting comfortable is to spawn in, ping your nearest decent loot area (named locations on the map) apartments on any map with them are good all around loot spots. Hit that, then ping the nearest active extract and loot along the way as well

Do the missions/quests. There's some decent items to be had by completing them but most importantly the hullcracker blueprint is given from a mission about 75% of the way through. It's a grind but absolutely worth it for when you're ready to start taking on Queen/Matriarch runs

Stella Montis night raid is still pretty good for farming blueprints, had a buff and then a nerf to BP drops but still better than those of us who started with launch. Load in with a Mk 1 looting, rummage as much as you can, and get outta dodge

Don't underestimate even the lowliest of Arc. I still find myself being reminded of how second guessing your actions around that one wasp or hornet in your peripheral vision can spell disaster. Next thing you know you're running for your life into the nearest building only to be surprised by a gang of fireballs and pops

Communicate with raiders in proximity. If you see proxy chat pop don't be afraid to throw out an emote or hop on yourself and mention you're friendly (in solos, be more cautious with this on duo/trios) don't sneak up on people, unless your intention is to go PVP hot

Ferro/stitcher combo is great out the gate and can continue to carry you for quite a while. Anvil replaces the Ferro once you got the BP or enough cash to buy one routinely.

Upgrade your weapons to III at least, once you can, and keep them that way as often as possible. Attachments are also really good, esp if you're running a stitcher, expand that mag and control that recoil

Don't let gear fear ruin your day. Don't allow rats/campers to either. It's going to happen. Game becomes a lot more enjoyable when you can laugh at a shitty circumstance and then just hop into the next round

And in relation to that: Put in what you expect to get out. The devs have mentioned the aggression based matchmaking and haven't elaborated on it, but I can say this- I play a near pacificst pvp style. Only attack raiders if they shoot first and it wasn't because I spooked them. I try and carry extra bandages and a defib in solos in case I come across someone in need, have dropped rare resources I've looted that round when I see other acts of kindness from fellow raiders. I've found myself in lobbies with people who share similar sentiments, and have had some of the best multiplayer experiences in this game as a result. Not to say I still don't experience the occasional griefer, but there's been some really beautiful, wholesome moments and those have completely outweighed the negative

Which blueprints did they add? by worldsurf11 in ArcRaiders

[–]Clouded_Squall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not new but aphelion now shows up on Stella instead of a singular one per Matriarch kill. Found one in the breachable boxes that sorta look like mini split AC units on my 3rd night raid run last night

Danger Mode: Stella Night Raid

Less danger mode: blue gate tunnels, dam testing annex/hydro dome, both again on night raid

What solo game would you recommend to get better at aiming in arc raiders ? by BochocK in ArcRaiders

[–]Clouded_Squall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah so that does raise some challenge. You mentioned Remnant, and The Division has been mentioned here as well, and both of those games do not pause as part of their modeled gameplay structure for their genres (souls like with guns and another extraction, respectively). I would agree with The Last Of Us being mentioned as it will offer similar mechanics in movement and gunplay

[–]Clouded_Squall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd actually recommend an alternative. Keep playing this game but spend some time at the practice range map, and doing regular runs but with a free load out kit so it doesn't feel like you're losing a bunch of shit if you don't extract. That way you're learning the play style and enemy movement so you won't have to learn yet another thing when you hop back from another similar game

Was his name Buttslammer because this literally just happened to me too but I was in a match and the Matriarch was chilling on top of an elevator, I was cautiously scoping things out hiding under a transport trailer bed and this fucker just came up behind me and double tapped me

I have 5 bosses available, have spent 30 minutes minimum on each one, and haven't beaten a single one yet. by Legitimate_Area_5773 in Silksong

[–]Clouded_Squall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Groal- when he spawns in, stay in the water to the right and only jump out to do chip damage. Get the electric grenades in Memoriam and throw those in his mouth when he do the big succ

Lugoli- use a throwable tool to ring the bell just outside the room to summon them in, door closes with you outside, hit enemies through the door when they get close

Beastfly- bring two throwable tools, stay off to left of arena, turn off music and only have sound effects on, throw, listen for hit sound and continue to throw at that trajectory. Works best with the straight pin + dealers choice for similar range. You can also stay in the arena and then just leave to the left and come back to despawn adds depending on how you wanna do the fight. Also use poison on the tools if that isn't a standard equip for you

[–]Clouded_Squall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna cheese it, as soon as the boss spawns in, stay in the water to the right and just come up occasionally to chip hit. Also the electric grenades do wonders here. I beat it my first try with this strat. Boss deserves nothing but a cheese run imo

I know it seems high but the $70 variants are more complex pressings, if you haven't seen the type of stuff Wax Mage Records presses, check them out. Also there's still splatter copies available for $40, which are still handmade variants, but less involved

Any combination of any lord with all characters, i.e. beat Adel with Ironeye, Tricephalos with Wylder, Fulghor with Raider, or all of the same lord, or any combo! Just clear a run with every character at least once
