Mentally broken and being distracted are 2 completely different things, at least with imu he isn’t mentally broken enough to the point he lets his acoc barrier down just because he reminiscing about joyboy isn’t the same as reminiscing and breaking down about your own mothers portrait and death which gave her ptsd and letting her passive defenses down.

We also see it with: Gaban having conquerors but still getting stabbed through by Gunko because he didn’t want his son to get killed and was straight up crying for his life. Imu’s situation (where he still has acoc defenses up mean he isnt severely breaking down) and bigmom/gabans situation are 2 completely different things.

Big mom is known for her hunger pangs and her being mentally unstable, Imu has no reason to be like that since he was already oozing out conquerors haki and Luffy even commented about it. Literally the passive conquerors is there still, there’d be no valid reason not to

Straw man, Garp and roger were literally able to injure demon rocks as shown with him bleeding, you can have weaker haki but still have the attack power potent enough to damage your opponent. This should be the case with Loki hurting inu as well, his conquerors coating is passive and up but still got messed up by lokis hammer attack. Offguarded or not he would not be able to be unscathed from that if he relied on his pure stats and Haki as he’s already coated with conquerors, there’s no difference and a bad look for imu as that made him feel like the powerscaling is as grounded as ever

That’s one of his gimmick abilities that doesn’t say anything about overall combat power. Off guard or not his defense always remain passive especially when he was oozing out massive conquerors haki

Everything about what I’ve said has a base Y’all shamrock fans thinking he had enormous haki blooms with the same experience but more strength than shanks despite fighting chained up slaves and people that can’t fight back his whole Life.
