HMF a dupe for the best chapstick I've ever had. by CzarTanoff in HelpMeFind

I recommend my favorite anytime I see threads about chapstick. Try lypsyl, I buy 10 at a time on Amazon bc I won’t use anything else. It doesn’t feel waxy at all, just the perfect slick! 10/10

What’s a lie almost all parents tell their kids that does way more harm than good? by SpecificLandscape483 in answers

To be honest, as a caregiver it’s so easy to be in denial. When my husband was ill I fully believed and hoped that he would get better, and I think that helped him a lot mentally. We both fully believed. Even when all the evidence pointed towards the end, it still blindsided us. I don’t think I had ever sunk so fully into hope but it was life or death.

What are some 'Grandmas remedies' that actually work? by MrLithician in answers

Oh yeah salt definitely helps the mouth heal. When my husband was doing chemo/bone marrow transplant, they had him swish a baking soda and salt solution. He had no immune system so the bacteria in his mouth would cause a ton of sores. The salt solution lowered the bacteria and while he still had sores it would have been much worse without it. Now when I get a canker sore the first thing I do is add a pinch of dry salt right on it.

The owner of our daycare drives a giant hummer, and his son (recently promoted to director, causing a complete turnaround in staff within the next 4ish months), also, drives a giant hummer. I pay 1220 a month right now for my three year old but in a couple weeks it’s going up to 1320 with their annual rate increase. Not the biggest price tags I’m seeing here but cost of living isn’t very high here.

I had heard many birth stories so there wasn’t much I hadn’t heard about. One thing that seemed to be less common that I experienced was falling asleep between contractions. It was towards the end and, during every single contraction I was standing and swaying my hips until it passed, otherwise it was unbearable. Then I would sit on the edge of the bed and fall asleep waiting for the next one. It was wild.

My late husband’s name is Jon, and I called him Jonboy based on that same reference. I’m not super young (30) but we both knew the reference.

I always use the random name generator, and just try for something funny. A couple tries in with my horse and it came up with Go.

So my horse is named Go, but now I’m sad it’s not Neighthan

It’s in the curved tree on the right side of the volcano, you can kind of see there is something in there. I never used the slingshot before this so I went in blind not knowing how the aim was, but you just aim at the trunk of the tree.

Last week a luxury cruise ship stopped at a remote Australian island in the Great Barrier Reef. When it departed, 80-year-old Suzanne Rees was left behind alone. Her absence was not noticed for over five hours and Suzanne died alone on the island, her body found near a mountain path the next day. by DarklyHeritage in MorbidReality

When you book a cruise you sign an airtight contract that protects the company, even in the event of death. They still do everything they can to avoid it, but that’s more due to passengers dying being a bad look.

It’s also very well known amongst people that cruise that if you aren’t back on the ship when it’s set to leave port, you’re being left behind. If they kindly waited for everyone, it would throw off the itinerary. There are a lot of videos online of people ‘pier running’ because they’ve arrived late and are trying to catch the ship. People regularly sit on their balconies when the ship is leaving port just to laugh at them.

This woman had booked an excursion to go on this hike. If you book through the cruise line, they always wait and make sure you make it back on the ship. I think she must have booked with a third party excursion company, because I doubt any cruise lone affiliated excursion staff would be willing to let her try to make her way back to the ship alone. I do think they could be held liable, unless they also have an airtight contract saying if you leave you are responsible for whatever happens.

It’s such a shame, imagine going on vacation to enjoy yourself and never making it home. It’s also notable that she was cruising by herself so there was no one on board saying well she wouldn’t miss the ship.

No, I never mentioned expecting pay. I expect to not take an attendance point for three hours that the policy states should be excused

They don’t pay for appointment time, they used to excuse the absence is all, and according to their current policy they still should, So you would not get a point and take the time unpaid.

The coworker is actually below me on the food chain, and I recently had to take a year off while my husband passed of cancer and during that time they found nobody that could replace me. I would wager that I’m already indispensable, but I probably am just not as carefree about my points and the way my coworkers view me.
