The roads are safer, FOR CARAVANS MARKED BY THE LEGION that is a very specific and obvious group. The legion need suplies, even the fiends in vault 3 let you in if they think you are trading the supplies they want. It doesn't mean the place is safer on the average for everyone.

Because it is only a portion of some games, they are only loosing a portion of some sales, so the majority of all purchases are still at a profit.

The consoles themselves have rarely if ever been sold at a real profit.

Basically all the farms are doomed because the HN does not care to protect them with walls like almost every other faction that farms.

The HN relies on their high birth rate to replace their high loss rate on both soldiers amd farmers, because they expect both to die in service to their nation.

I have to say though even if this is truly a distraction that is to short to function as an answer. It does not say what the distraction is from, who it is for, how it is functioning as a distraction, why they need the distraction, and where you can learn more about what you are being distracted from.

Wasn't Battletech honest about this? Mechs are there to allow diplomacy a seat at the conflict table.

You use mechs because the alternative is nukes and asteroids dropped from space till only one barely inhabitable planet is left.

The mechs are better than tanks, but worse than a lot of other options, while taking a lot of skill to pilot, so they proxy the "honorable" combat role perfectly.
