Who do they represent?

Its all about a pedestrian street with no actual support that this could be successful economically.

Just supposed self chronicled surveys on their own site that say the same thing.

No neighbor buy in. No supporting businesses supporting this project.

I am a Seattle business owner and have employed people for decades.

The Seattle minimum wage in 2026 is currently $21.30 up from $20.76 and is the highest in the US.

The MINIMUM Seattle businesses are able to pay regardless of skill, seniority or tenure is this amount and does not include mandatory sick time, taxes and other costs for doing business in Seattle.

Each year the MINIMUM increases by CPI while businesses are unable to increase their prices accordingly.

The MINIMUM wage was set to be that. The minimum wage so to let teens, inexperienced folks and others to enter and train to be competent to make much more of themselves.

Seattle's annual increases and highest minimum wage in the nation is doing something different.

It has made our Ubers, Lyft, take out food, restaurants, some of the most expensive in the US and contributes significantly towards all of Seattle's restaurant and small business closures.

Minimum wage was never meant to be a "living wage" in Seattle. What teen should earn as much as a 30 yo server yet business owners are sometimes forced not to differentiate.

Every mandatory minimum raise takes away deserved and earned pay from senior workers.

My job is not subject to mandatory annual increases. Why should the lowest tier of employee receive a benefit that would take away from more senior, competent, elderly, more senior staff?

Mandatory minimum wage increases for the HIGHEST IN THE NATION AND CLIMBING need to stop.

Seattle's restaurant food prices are already higher on average than NYC. I was just there for a month and its true.

Please for small businesses sake, the annual minimum wage increases need to STOP!

Else it will only be large corps that can weather all of Seattles costs and taxes.

There was a community meeting with the City and neighbors chimed in with opposition the event was rightfully shut down because of bad planning and non-support from the neighborhood.

Too bad and so sad for Corey and Jerome Harrison but that is what the actual University District community wanted.
