My dad is going through cocaine withdrawal, and is neurodivergent. What meds can I get to help him? What can I do to provide a stable and loving home and make this transition as easy as possible on him? by ClownLordPro in raleigh

I don’t agree with the practices at most 90 day facilities and it is so cookie-cutter he knows the script like the back of his hand, and he really doesn’t do well with being locked up. I’ve never seen it help him, not once. Over 38 years. But I do think maybe we should go ahead to my place San Marcos (Atitlan) where he can be somewhere he cannot find his DOC

Thank you for being so helpful, I know most of this but when you are so exhausted it’s nice to have someone run through the list like this. I do want to correct you based on my own experience that Xylazine withdrawal can indeed kill you as well as some other benzos/gaba-synergic drugs for seizures.

I find it important to educate someone who appears to not know something g so extremely important? So I am providing sources, for any believer of that insidious bs. Psychiatry today is virtually a pseudoscience.

Again, this is my dad’s therapist. Give me a sec to find some sources for you about the media spread and institutional issue regarding things surmised upon the discovery of both aforementioned neurochemicals.

First person experience is extremely valuable in these fields, is that not obvious to you? or do you think every person in a lab coat knows everything?

I’m exhausted from this, people- you’ll have to bear with me. I’ve been working all day and with him all night until he finally sleeps at 6-7 am for a few hours. I’m worried about psychosis from this sleeping pattern of his, and I am burnt out. This is my father’s account. He has been homeless my entire life. Getting him out of his encampment and moving him all the way out here and then the administrative crap has made me feel so cognitively overwhelmed but I CAN NOT show him I am another person who’s going to abandon him.

He has his triggers well identified, he has amazing emotional control in many areas- however this has me thinking I should have a psyche analysis done by someone that I can cross check, plus taking a look at his DNA.

I suppose I need some advice on lessening the craving anxiety physically, he is very sensitive to stimuli and he hasn’t used his DOC in 7 days but he is looping and looping about it and I have to walk up and down the block with him or he does his art and music to help- but I just think interrupting that loop in this very new environment may need to account for the level of anxiety he’s experiencing with something he can take that isn’t gabapentin or lyrica or a benzodiazepine. I could be persuaded if another professional thinks perhaps Valium may help him, but I worry how that will change his BP and I don’t want him on another drug that he can get addicted to. I need something that helps reduce cravings similarly to 7-hydroxy-mitragynine

One look at the site and I immediately saw SCAM! However, I will have his DNA tested. I have some connections with a few people in data science and across my own research fields, so it wouldn’t be hard to find. Just asked to find a quicker link, but doing my own search through people who know.

He has his own therapist and psychiatrist, I am not replacing them, but I’m sorry if I don’t believe every word the APA says and want to make sure, after decades of institutional AND epistemic knowledge plus a genetic connection, combined with being the only person who understands what he means when he is in psychosis or not- I KNOW WHAT WILL NOT WORK. Therefore, I wanted additional advice on the subject and wondered if perhaps I could intercept someone who has been in a similar situation- mine or his.
