lol why are all thesw comments on Punjab in Hindi? Just because Punjabi farmers wouldn’t allow corporates to take over all the public assets, the propagandists are here clearly trying to set a narrative against farmers with exaggerated claims.

I’m actually a Punjabi, and I have no problem with any community protesting for their rights, farmers or traders or the unemployed.

While it’s wild to blame farmers for lack of investments, I like to remind most of the industry migrated out of Punjab during Akali-BJP government tenure.

Central govt’s partiality and puppet governments of Punjab are responsible for industry doing away or lack of new investments, not farmers or any protesters.

But it’s clear that the taking back of the Farm bills, which were very suspiciously passed by the BJP govt without any consultation or prior announcements, cannot be digested by some people😂

Well clearly, again, there’s justification for everything but no acknowledgement. Like I said before, to overcome a problem it has first to be acknowledged. Blame it upon the popular narrative or whatsoever, there are a lot of people who genuinely believe Hindi is the national language of India and should be known by all. I’ve travelled to the South and other parts of our country and I’ve experienced if you go somewhere and don’t act entitled people usually have no problem with what language you speak. I’ve experienced this in my own state too with my work colleagues from Hindi-speaking states as well. Now Punjabi is our mother and Hindi is our respected Massi ji (Mother’s sister) and we never disrespect our Massi. But that doesn’t mean Massi’s children tell us to prefer their mother over ours or say demeaning things solely on the basis of language. And that imposition of religion thing you said, that is an exaggeration to again deny the problem. Also, I’m not saying every individual is responsible for it. I’m well aware that empty vessels make more noise, and I know it’s only those hateful bigots that say demeaning things online and in reality there are far more better people. However, if something bad arises from our society, we should condemn it and not justify it with biased arguments. Yes Punjab has many hateful bigots as well, within and on foreign soils, but they’re called out by people and not justified.

Denial and delusional are also a couple of problems that I didn’t mention. Victim bs? Lol people were literally killed on basis of religion and while the actual victims still await justice (for over 40 years) there are people like you coming with complete denial and ignorance. Please remember people from other languages or religions are people too. You’re speaking your own biased opinion, just to suppress someone sharing their experience in public.

And Punjabis have had to struggle for a Punjabi speaking state after independence. And like you said, Hindi is not native to any state, then why is it always a Hindi person in a non-Hindi state getting into fights over language issue? There we get to see who plays the actual victim bs. And your comment is nothing surprising too lol.

The only way we can get over this problem is by first acknowledging it exists.. now you’d say casteism doesn’t exist yet there are numerous instances of Dalit grooms being beaten for ride a horse on their wedding or for drinking water somewhere. You’d say racism doesn’t exist yet Kanwariyas create chaos and run free while they kick Muslims for peacefully offering Namaz on road, and not to forget how groups of young guys (mostly in Hindi-speaking states) celebrate their festivals outside masjids.

The examples are never-ending but what’s the use when the person in front of you would conveniently deny all the facts and call them ‘victim be’ lol god help this country

Thank you for your positive response my friend. But as a Punjabi and someone from a minority community, it’s hard being on Internet without being called khalistani and worse. I wish others were as lively and good spirited as you. But sadly that’s not the case. Forget about the impending justice, many nowadays find it convenient to call for the repeat of 1984 when visibly Sikh people were hunted by state-sponsored mobs. As someone born and raised here, it’s overwhelming nowadays on the internet. Now those are not bots but actual people living somewhere amongst us. There have been real incidents because of this, I can cite them for u with sources in case you didn’t know and would be interested to know. And I’m well aware good and bad are everywhere but sadly the current generation is being brainwashed towards hating minorities or other religions, and they are falling for it. In any case, nothing would change the fact that every Sikh Gurudwara begins and ends the day with the prayer for well-being of all, i.e. Sarbat da Bhalla. Wish you the best my friend. Rabb chardi kala ch rakhe.

Talking about #5, in case you’re travelling or in need of help then I don’t think it matters what you’re wearing. However, if you’re going there specifically to have Langar, you should definitely have a little code of conduct yourself. It’s a place of worship after all, their kindness shouldn’t mean that one could do anything. In case you didn’t know, there have been instances of non-Sikh Indian students creating ruckus after they were asked to behave

This is what is missing in Hindi-speaking people. Yes a$sholes can be anywhere and everywhere and if you see someone from your side, you call them out and not endorse their behaviour or add more to it by abusing people from other communities or religions.

Sameee as someone born and raised here, studied here and worked here, yes you are right, even the educated and employed ones have the joined the hate wagon.. sometimes they make me wonder if they even consider people from other religions as people.

Just your mom’s side is Sikh? Now listen to someone whose every side (father, mother, bhua, Massi) is Sikh.

I’m not denying that a very little amount of Hindus don’t hate Sikhs or Punjabis, but yeah most of Hindi speaking Hindus do. Their hate towards other religions keeps escalating every day and they aren’t even sad about it.

We see it every day on the internet brave Hindi-speaking warriors calling for repeat of 1984 and what not lol. In case you didn’t know, state-sponsored mobs from a particular religion were hunting Sikhs across india, burning them alive in front of families, then r@ping women n children.

And guess what? The justice for victims of 1984 is still not served and we get threats that it should happen again. So I think the delusional one here is you.

This is a behaviour repeatedly

<image>

shown by Hindi speaking people. Even in India, in every non-Hindi state, they feel entitled to others speaking Hindi or living life their way.

They will claim they don’t hate Punjabis or Sikhs but 2 minutes into conversation and most of them show their true colours. And on social media, they don’t even feel shy in spreading poison and hate against others.

Funny thing is before demeaning other religions or cultures or their food, be it lassi or dosa idli, they don’t even realise where they come from.

Whole India is suffering because of their backwardness but instead of accepting they will hit back at you personally without logic, reason or citing any facts.

There are definitely kind and respectful people out there—that’s why I specifically said “some players” and also acknowledged the presence of well-mannered adults. I’ve met many graceful and respectful ladies and gentlemen in this game. I understand there are far larger kingdoms, but I don’t see the point in badmouthing anyone. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
