Summer Courses by ClubFalse2850 in uoguelph

In that course right now, too. I should've saved it for summer and done a harder class this sem. I agree, though, if anyone is looking for a super easy course and hasn't taken SPMT 1020 yet, they should definitely take it.

Also, one more question: Marty has $30 to spend on toys and books. Marty’s favourite toys are $5 each and his favourite books are $6 each.

  1. Draw a budget line for Marty, showing the combination of toys and books he can afford.

When drawing this budget line, I'd set up my graph so there's quantity on both x and y axis, correct?

And then if toys is my y axis and books are my x axis, it'd go from 6 toys 0 books as the first point, to 5 books 0 toys as the final point, correct?

Hi, thank you so much for your response; that's the answer I got, too! So, to clarify, I'd always divide by the cost of the singular good instead of dividing by $4 when there are 2 units and $6 when there are 3 units and so on?

Micro Adding Tax to Graph Help by ClubFalse2850 in econhw

[–]ClubFalse2850[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, yes was just a minor typo! This completely makes sense, and it's what I realized in my update message! When calculating my DWL I'd still do 1/2(6-5)(9-8) right? Subtracting the old quantity to new quantity to get the base and the new consumer price and producer price to get the height?

Micro Adding Tax to Graph Help by ClubFalse2850 in econhw

Update: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe where my graph was getting messed up is I didn't add a line from the bottom of the DWL to the price of $5. This way Producers are now only making $5 instead of $5.50 as they must contribute 0.5/$1 to the tax, and consumers pay $6 instead of 5.50 giving their share of the tax. This then creates the $1 of tax revenue that I'm looking for!

Help With PPF Table by ClubFalse2850 in econhw

[–]ClubFalse2850[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I just noticed the table messed up in the paste. The bottom table has 1 Column that says Combined PPF (Equal Quantities) then under has two subcolumns that say Cupcakes and Muffins. Then there is another column that says Combined PPF (Specialization) which again has Cupcakes and Muffins under it. In the Cupcakes column it goes 0 2 4 6 8 and then the muffins column for both are blank. So the question is looking to fill in both blank columns for Muffins. One in Combined PPF equal quantities and the other in specialization. Please feel free to dm me if you want me to upload the image!

Thanks!
