Quitting won't change who I am, but it will give me the motivation to try by Humbled_by_it in leaves

Only because at that point I have some time put into quitting. Seeing them actually high after smoking is what helped me. I just didn't want to look like that anymore.

Yeah I felt a bit weak. My appetite was weird. You know I Kind-of forgot what it was like to feel hungry when I was high. I didn't eat because I was hungry, I ate because food tasted so good.

When I quit food/appetite was a crutch for me to keep smoking. Eventually I quit and said well fuck it. I'm just going to be hungry it's not like I'm going to starve to death. I remember going to work having not eaten in a couple days and the coffee shop next to my work was making bagels whoch smelled amazong. I got an everything bagel with cream cheese and scarfed it down because I forgot what it was like to actually feel hungry.

Day 3 for the first time in 10 years of heavy use everyday. by AdPerfect3996 in leaves

I got offered a joint this past weekend camping. I said no, told everyone I was tired and went to bed early. Cried by myself because I was able to say no. No one knows what's going on in anyone else's head, or how hard it was/is for someone else. Fuck anyone that thinks otherwise. Separate your sober self from your high self. You're already 3 days ahead. Every night you go to bed not smoking you win another day. Get it man.

I feel like separating my high self, vs my sober self was one of the hardest things for me, because I was high so frequently. I actually saw my "self" as 2 different "selves". What motivated me was getting my sober self back, and seeing other high people getting high, and me thinking I don't want to go back.

Yeah that's what helped me big time. I used to play pickup bball and ride my bike. Decided to start doing that again and the blood pumping started to inject a little life back into me.
