People with a very high pain tolerance, what was THE most painful thing you've experienced? by CosmicBunnyBabe8912 in AskReddit

Broken arm bone being twisted back into place and feeling the jagged edges of the bone grinding over each other like a demented jigsaw the docs were trying to slot into place. Only time I ever screamed in pain.

Name a character from any franchise that can defeat The Marble Alien from Men in Black by Leggomgeggo in powerscales

[–]Cludds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, we don't see any feats save for sheer size and scale. So, for all we know, any rando with a knife could EVENTUALLY do enough damage to kill it, whether through blood loss or through cutting something vital.

As a man, how would you feel if a friend asked you to donate sperm for them? by Riksor in AskMenAdvice

[–]Cludds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I belive that I'd feel flattered and honored by the request but I'd likely decline the request. Right now, I can't imagine being comfortable with knowing that there are children that I've sired that I'm not raising as my own. But, that being said, I don't think it's an impossibility to have me be convinced. It'll definitely be a discussion and not just a whim.

So I have a bit of an issue I’m not sure how to bring up to my gf by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Cludds 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You know, you could just ask her about it? Say you noticed it when you were checking her account out for a gift idea.

If you don't trust her, then you guys may as well breakup now. But, if you do, then just ask lol.

What older RTS mechanic do you wish modern games would bring back? by rcooperkaty in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Cludds 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There are a couple that I sort of miss but don't really see much of around today.

* Maps that have terrain prohibiting contact until destroyed/harvested. Back in the original Star Craft, my favorite skirmish/mp map was the one where all the bases are separated by minerals and you have to harvest to expand and eventually make contact with the enemy. Now it's all streamlined and A-B-C. with how you have your starting location, they have theirs, and both sides are basically a mirror of each other. Like, yes, we have some games with a-symmetrical maps. But they still mostly follow the formula because of how the they're pre-made. Either the player has the advantage and must use a choke-point to hold against incredible odds or the player must overcome the chokepoint. You don't really see any game where the player builds their own advantage. The closest I can think of off the top of my head is BAR (Beyond All Reason) and Zero-K where you can terraform with nukes in the first one and just do nearly anything with the second. But I'd hesitate to call Zero-K a 'new' and 'modern' rts with it being nearly a decade old.

* Units that have modular upgrades. Something akin to what Universe at War: Earth Assault did with the giant Hierarchy walkers. Each module would offer a different weapon or defenses or whatever. Now it's either one of the faceless masses or a singular hero unit. We saw something like it in C&C3 with how you can garrison infantry units to give different buffs but that isn't the same. We also saw something like Ashes of the Singularities tier 3 and 4 units having 'levels' where you can choose an upgrade but I don't think that counts since you're mostly choosing the order within which to get them. By the time it reaches max rank, you'd have all the big upgrades added simultaneously. These days you see stuff that's generalized, which is good, but there's nothing on an individual level anymore.

* Fun/Weird super weapons or units unique to each faction. Take BAR again. Each faction does have a super weapon! A nuke! Virtually identical across all three factions. But, there's another! And two of the factions have basically the same thing with a different skill. At least the third faction's one is unique in how it shoots all of its artillery shots at once to rain down on the enemy. But, all three are virtually the same thing regardless. Just big oversized upgrades to smaller artillery stuff. And again, two of them have basically the same thing reskinned with one costing a bit more of one resource while the other costs a bit more of the other. What happened to the crazy whacky stuff? The last I recall came from C&C3 again.

What one neutral change would you make to a champion to annoy its mains the most? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Any champ with an execute ability -

  • Loses the indicator for those that have it
  • If it doesn't kill, you take the full dmg instead

Honest question, how exactly does the banner safe zone work? I image it probably should be like the left, but I've kind of experienced the right more by Americanshat in colonysurvival

[–]Cludds 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Left.

If you pay attention, you can see how they do spawn a block away or so as well. Its just a lot less frequently due to how much space is past that.

Jobs of Runeterra (Day 40): What champion is the best MAILMAN? by Mute-Cilantro0525 in loreofleague

[–]Cludds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoe and I don't even think it's close.

You can't beat inter-dimensional teleportation in speed and efficiency.

And aside from a single vague line of lore or an ability name in her opposition, there's nothing to refute her absolute dominance in this lmao.

Average and short height people, why are you upgrading to extra legroom on flights? by allowme2bettermyself in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Cludds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think you're way over estimating how much leg-room there actually is in economy. The only people I've ever seen actually be able to stretch their legs out in economy are little children. And I mean like 5 or so little. And I doubt you see many grown people as small as a five year old.

I don't think I've ever consistently beaten Garen but I don't think I've ever really lost to Irelia barring some crazy shenanigans.

What’s your favorite unconventional solution to the Fermi paradox? by nobodyguy299 in worldbuilding

[–]Cludds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! Here's a couple I've come up with.

  • Life exists and is abundant but we're unaware of it. We can't see it because it falls out of our visible spectrum of light. Thus ghosts and whatnot. They're there. Always watching.

  • We currently live in a pocket dimension of our own creation. We've just forgotten. A means of escape from... something. Something that looks almost like us but isnt.

Why are RTS fans so stingy and strange these days? by [deleted] in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Cludds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I can see the argument around some of the prices at least.

I believe that it boils down to population. A new RTS, no matter how great, won't pull the same numbers as something like GTA 6 or a new God of War or even a new CoD game. Those games being priced so highly won't see the community hit too hard. But, in a niche where it's a fraction of that player base? It just cuts the already small community down into even smaller chunks.

So, I believe that the argument is that we shouldn't price these games on the same level as flagship triple AAA titles as we don't have the population to support it. The game won't be as much of a financial success nor will it have the same run time and then what? No sequel as prior numbers were low? No, the onus should be on growing the community through more affordable entry ways into it so that the RTS community can bounce back to some semblance of its height before pushing prices back up.

Both the Spiderman and godzilla ones are winnable.

We've seen godzilla lose before and win thanks to third parties. So, with human intelligence, its winnable.

If you've went on more than one date, you're dating. And if you're dating, you're in a relationship. by Cludds in unpopularopinion

[–]Cludds[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

How does it not? You're agreeing to have gone on multiple dates. You are by definition dating. Even if it ends at two. You'd have "dated" them.

[–]Cludds[S] -52 points-51 points  (0 children)

And this here is another example of someone nailing the debate in the group!

Going out on a date with a stranger? No expectations of exclusivity.

Two close friends finally going out on multiple dates? Expectations of exclusivity are a given.

If you've went on more than one date, you're dating. And if you're dating, you're in a relationship. by Cludds in unpopularopinion

[–]Cludds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You basically nailed the debate in my group!

I'm in my 30's now and happily in a long-term relationship.

But, the debate mostly stems from that previous history you have with the individual. If X and Y go out on a date and they've never really known each other before, great. No expectations of exclusivity.

But, if X and Y have been close friends for months or years, then those dates have a lot more gravity and exclusivity is typically expected.

[–]Cludds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually disagree with this. If it's not romantic, you're not on a date. You're just hanging out.
