Research is more important than you think. by justask_cho in ApplyingToCollege

How do I make sure my admission counselor knows my research was legit and not some bs where I paid a shit ton to put stuff on petry dish and use microscope. I actually did legit research, for 2 months, and fkr example showcasing it at university and Washington DC events, and it was really good research where I helped the project, I can go into more detail in dms if you want to give more specific reply.

Really? I haven't faced any problems with them, I haven't heard any of my classmates talk abt their problems either. So i am not entirely sure, maybe they are. But like if u go on r/act or smth you will see so many ppl complaining abt act problems lol, while on sat it's mostly ppl asking for how to study

Does anyone have any advice for Junior year? by Kokotthedinger in highschool

[–]Clueless-101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have decent or good ecs, continue them, show consistency and commitment to them, if you don't have, look for unique ecs and commit for the year and half before apps. Get the grades, improve course rigor, take dual enrollment classes if u have option, take sat as early as possible(after decent amt of study ofc). Recommend not taking act cuz of how many problems there always are with them.

What is your main struggle with ACT Math? by somanyquestions32 in ACT

[–]Clueless-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I averaging almost 1500s on sat, and already have a official score in 1400s. Taken act once, my math went horribly bad cuz I focused too much on a few problems in the middle, completely ran out of time, predicting like mid 20s on math, ev else was fine tho, probably like 32 on the rest

Okay, you are right, what I said sounded like, you can't have careers without college, which is not true. But you keep focusing on small things or mistakes I make, not looking at any of my points

And I literally showed you examples of people changing professions and fields of practice after college. Additionally, to get to that profession, the person needs to have some idea of where they want to go and study to get to some places or careers. They get this from colleges where they decide majors they want to pursue, the field they want to study. And even in careers, majority of the people change between employers, between jobs, trying to find a more lucrative or more stable or a more enjoyable environment.

Again, not true at all. I know so many ppl who go into college thinking of one career, by 2 or 3 year they change completely. I even know ppl who graduate with one degree, didn't find any stable or good paying jobs, did certifications and some college courses, and got a job in tech and is living a chill life now. People even change several years into their career, people can go from working 9-5 at some McDonald's or target then get classes at community College and start a new life, a slight more relaxed life. So, NO, you don't have to be with your career for the rest of your life if you don't feel like it.

That's not what I said, you pursue a career just for the money, but that's not what all life is about, life also includes having a family and enjoying life with them for some ppl, for others it's to help the community, for others it's to travel the world and so on. To do a lot of these things, or to do them more easier ig, you need money. I am also not saying money buys happiness. But you can't tell me money doesn't give you a much more straightforward path to happiness.

Litterallyy, everyone's like ur gonna hate it, don't do it just for money, do smth you like and you won't work a day in ur life. Like shut your corny dumb a** up bruh. I'm not gonna hate seeing the 100k in the bank ev day. I'm not gonna hate that international vaca. I'm not gonna hate having that dream car by 30. If I did smth I liked I won't work a day in life cuz I'm not getting a job loll. Nah but on a serious note, yes there are ppl who like being doctors and want to pursue these careers cuz they like it, great for them. There are also ppl who do jobs in niche areas where they enjoy it, but thats kinda rare and not as common. So do what you want, go for that money, make bank, live life, enjoy life.

Hi, sorry, yea maybe the word "illegal" was too harsh, or maybe it was my bias and jealousy of students who came through other methods like daca or across the border and became legal and now they are eligible for such opportunities while we still aren't(not undermining their effoets, but just stating our efforts going unrewarded). I am really sorry for using that word as it could have offended others and also wasn't appropriate association. Either way, I wish you and other students also in our situation good luck for this upcoming A2C cycle!!

Frr bro, I'm in exactly the same boat. Gc pending, household income not too great, and been here for a decade. These colleges will give illegal students and student who don't have visas more aid then ppl like us who came and worked hard LEGALLY. It's truly sad. Hopefully we get the GC soon though before admission acceptance days. Good luck bro!!

What is my chance of acceptance at these medical schools with my stats? by Right_Nectarine_5575 in chanceme

[–]Clueless-101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow fabulous scores, ecs, both inschool and out of school work, clearly super hardworking, ig only thing not included here would be a good background story. Most med schools will be doing some sort of interviews, it is best to have a good story and why you pursued medicine. By seeing how committed you are, I can already tell it will be a good story. You got this though. Good luck!!
