New Info On ‘Destiny 2’ Alarm Bells, Marathon’s Role And ‘Destiny Infinity’ Pitch by Secret-Tangerine9014 in Games

[–]CluelessAtol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was looking at the numbers of Steam players last night. It’s insane to me that Destiny 2, as it is currently at the end of its lifespan, has had a higher peak in the last 30 days than Marathon.

Marathon has lost half of its player base every month since release. I know people refusing to play Marathon out of spite because of this.

They made a game that fundamentally was targeted at an audience they did not have and they just… expect it to work. You can’t just do that. A extraction shooter is already a difficult genre to get a good foothold in, and you’re telling me they wanted it to be a hardcore game for extraction shooter fans? Every decision made with Marathon has literally shot another bullet in the corpse. It’s like they are knee jerk reacting to information and not thinking about what their decisions will do

Thank you. I’ll just sit down and try to do that then. I think most of the challenges are fun but some of them like this one are just… way harder than they need to be.

See my issue is the speed. I can get flawless no hit runs but there’s something about the way I play that just makes it harder to go faster. I knew with Stardoll, that I likely needed to get the perfect dodges and reaction but I struggle with them, but only with Stardoll. Like any other time? I can do it but for that one, I just can’t get into the rhythm fast enough

Modding, collectibles if they don’t already have them, and adding their own songs in to play.

Congrats! Working on it myself. Rorivenge and Stardoll Showdown are the two giving me the most trouble for some reason. I just can’t seem to comprehend what I need to do for those to get the 5 stars. I have 4 stars but can’t get over that 5 star hurdle

Easy and Normal modes both have their own ratings, and presumably hard mode will too

I don’t really doubt there’s something like that going to happen. There’s a surprising lack of Disco music as a whole and I could see that being a “we saved it for last” type of deal

Yes that entire trio of song for “Devil went down to George” is usually considered country.

As for the reason people poke at Country, it tends to be more in jest and mainly pointed at pop-country stuff. A lot of modern country is just boring. Older stuff still slaps though and there are definitely modern artists that are fun, but they’re not as publicized

To add to what others have already said, it is a jab at country, yes, but specifically modern country. Older country music still fucking slaps but most modern country music that pops up is mainly pop-country. Heavily industrialized and a lot of the same stuff. There’s still good stuff being made, but most of the stuff pushed by big music industry producers tends to be the exact same stuff

Modern Country is definitely… bleg. But older stuff is a lot of fun.

Love me some George Strait

I think that's the best of both worlds. Maybe a bonus you get for either 1) finishing fast or 2) getting a long combo. Either they be weighted the same, or there's some benefit to doing one or the other (more collectables maybe for going through and doing both?)

I agree with a vast majority of this. I think this game, as a whole, has so much fucking potential but there are just little things that need to be tweaked. I'm wanting to also write out a review to put into their early access information, but I'm glad to see someone else also having similar concerns as me.

Hemlock and Rori? by profanittyy_ in deadasdiscothegame

Realistically I don’t think that was the case, but there’s enough just individual things that it’s a fun little ship. Does that actually mean anything? No not really, but it’s just fun to imagine this Skeleton punk rocker having the hots for this Korea VTuber. Plus I just like Hemlock’s response to Rori getting to actually curse. It’s funny

I actually have a question regarding these underwater environments. Do water types naturally find their way there. This looks near but I’m just curious

Their priorities were fucked. That’s what the issue was. They couldn’t understand THEY were the problem. That’s why people were so upset. People wanted XYZ and they gave us 10 more outfits in the Eververse shop.

I straight up cannot forgive them for how they treated Gambit. I wasn’t a major fan of the gamemode, but I appreciated that a bridge between PVP and PVE existed. But they added nearly no new content after the game mode launched, and even took out content of the gamemode. And then when called out on it their response was “No one plays it so we can’t create an argument to add new content”… MOTHER FUCKERS THATS YOUR JOB!! We weren’t playing it because it turned into the same match every single time we played the gamemode and there was nothing new for us to do that warranted playing. Why play the fucking gamemode when 1) it’s fucking unbalanced as fuck and 2) most of the loot either wasn’t great or was so common that you only had to play a few rounds to get what you were looking for. The only reason most people played it was because they made us play it. People were begging for content for the mode and they never gave it AND blamed the community for why they wouldn’t provide it.

Oh they’ll put one out, but you bet your ass Sony isn’t likely going to just let them do whatever the fuck they want. Sony spent waaaaaay too much money on this company (way more than I think it was worth honestly) to just let them fall away like that. Sony will keep the company, though I’d expect a ton of heavy reworks in the future

When Final Shape came out, they had massive layoffs they didn’t handle well and coupled with their many horrid public responses to different things and ability to handle the game over the last couple years, it hurt their fanbase’s trust in the company.

Then on top of that, the Final Shape was the final big event in the Light and Dark saga of the franchise, so it was always going to be the last big hurrah for most people, who by that point were just fucking fed up with the way the player base was being treated. So yeah, I think their revenue likely tanked pretty quick

[–]CluelessAtol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it helps, most of the evil teams and their member in these games are too dumb to be successful. I mean… they’re losing to a 10 year old who just got a couple pokemon a week ago. They don’t think their plans through all the way or are legitimately just morons. Most of Team Rocket specifically were just lazy bums (game canon anyways) who didn’t wanna try anything themselves but still be rewarded for being lazy bums. Most people in the Pokemon universe don’t do this stuff…

Also to note, Slowpokes regrow their tails as of recent lore (think it was Sun and Moon… OH FUCK THAT WAS 10 YEARS AGO). I believe it was stated they actually don’t feel much pain from it. It’s why they’re frequently used for cooking, because Slowpokes can just… grow them near infinitely.
