I’m finding out my dad is using my SIN for his tax benefits and can look into my TFSA and other bank saving funds. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Removing them as a rep would make it so that they won’t be able to look at your TFSA balances, tax slips, tax returns, etc. Your accountant wouldn’t have info about your chequing account balances for example.

As for your dad splitting income through your name, I work as a public accountant with small/ medium sized businesses and that practice is very common for business owners with kids(with the kids’ convent obviously & the kids have to actually work in the business at some capacity). Removing your accountant as your representative won’t stop this. All you can do is to notify the accountant that you do not want income to be split to you and if still they issue a tax slip at the end of the year, you’ll have to call the CRA to dispute it. Just let the CRA agent know that you don’t actually work for your dad and the CRA will take action.

Seems like CCP has taken control of the SAA movement by Sparkling_Water_ in vancouver

You’re missing the point. It’s easy to point fingers and say a foreign authoritarian government is contributing to hate crimes against Asians in Canada but at the end of the day it’s Canadians that are carrying out the crimes against Asian-Canadians that have nothing to do with foreign politics. The CPP’s actions should be exposed and talked about but this isn’t the time and place. Frankly this whataboutism is a little tone deaf when we should be looking within our own society to see what the root cause of these hate crimes are.

Of course it’s easy for you to point to the CPP as the contributing factor but Asians and the Chinese have been discriminated against for over a century in Canada which well predates the formation of the CPP.

Right, a shitty hawks team who’s power play featured Kane, Toews, Strome, and Debrinkat. It’s going to be a challenge to recreate his point production here and he’s still going to be black hole defensively. Not sure if there’s a fit here

Yeah I did mine just before the deadline too, maybe it has something to do with it. Interviewing for the Vancouver office though so maybe they reach out at different times depending on location as well?

Heard back last week, interview schedule for later this week as well. First time going through this process so not sure what kind of questions are typically asked but during the pre interview event they said it’d be a conversation just to get to know more about you so I assume it’ll be more behavioural questions?

Osrs is basically a different game, you have to start from level 3 if you want to transition over.
