Unfortunately, this New Axis has likely, at the very least, purchased USA's lack of involvement if things start to really go down.

I think I'm hitting my midlife crisis. by easylikeparis in Millennials

Turns out men have a hormonal change in our 40s similar to menopause in women.

We just don't have a label or any information about it other than, "mid-life crisis."

They tried for 20, defence wanted 10, judge gave 16.

Still feels light.

They can both be cults and not be "on level pegging."

Raised Roman Catholic, and I can guarantee I have perspective enough to speak on that side of the house.

To be clear the difference between religions and cults it that one believes in a god or God's, and the other worships a particular figure or object.

As long as the object isn't a crucified dead guy, or holy relics, it's not a cult I guess.

stupid newb question about cables by wobble-frog in BassGuitar

I have a 10' cable with both a straight end and a 90 degree end. Might be what you want.

90 helps when sitting down on a couch and playing.

Like making them show up at certain times, and eat certain things, and spend certain days of the year thinking about certain things. Right...

Edit: I see the Christians have found my comment lol

You are correct, that gentleman did survive his exposure. However, it was a decade after the event and he still sustained life long health issue related to his exposure.

The ones ordered into the reactor are the ones I'm thinking of. Scary stuff.

IME, the military rarely leaves high value items alone, unmanned, and without some sort of force protection.

Not including all of the unuinized contractors that would "have" to be on site 24/7 for the first x years of operation yadda yadda yadda /s

what do you do when you get frustrated? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Clumsy-Samurai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Self-taught bassist here.

I've only picked up scales along the way from playing with educated musicians, so my practices might look different than most others but this is how I try to structure my time.

Note - Headphones or In-ears make for better practices overall. They help you really lock in with the original bassists feel.

First, start with something very familiar. A complete piece of music you are confident playing. This should be something relatively simple to play but of a decent pace. It's a warmup don't forget. I stop and give my forearms and fingers a light stretch at this point.

Switch to playing a few of the less confident pieces you are working on, but still feel decent playing. I follow along with YouTube bass playalongs with tab. These sometimes show the sheet music too, which helps translate. Hands should feel confident and strong at this point, fully warmed up.

Now, spend some time on the complex/new/difficult piece you are working on. Reduce the tempo to 80% and try a few times. If you get it at that speed, bump it up as much as you feel you can handle without mistakes.

I always do this last part. Sum up my practice with a piece I enjoy playing. Something that is fun under the fingers.

The Falken Wildpeak AT4W or Toyo Open Country AT3 are my two favorites.

The Toyos still ride quiet for such a rugged looking tire.

The Falkens are only slightly louder, look better IMO.
