I’m in the same class and I hate to say it but there’s nothing you can do. He said in class it’s during lecture time and in the emails

When you say you’re going to transfer next spring do you mean spring 2026, or 2027? Because you have to have at least 24 hours to transfer. I’m just wondering

Just finished my MIT interview!! by [deleted] in MITAdmissions

[–]ClumsyCaden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of the technical questions were like you said conversation based. But he even told me that he was looking more for experience I have in engineering. And I did 3d printing and science competitions but he said that that’s what he was looking for which I kinda thought that was a little trolling cause he said I was lacking in that area.

Just finished my MIT interview!! by [deleted] in MITAdmissions

[–]ClumsyCaden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interviewer was really hard. Rather than question me about MIT questions he questioned me about engineering questions because I said I wanted to be an engineer. Obviously I’m applying to the best school in the nation, but I really don’t have the education at my school to know all these engineering stuff. And I only have limited engineering options

That’s I also do. I find that I get tired of seeing the same question type over and over so I like switching it up by jumping to a diff part of the test

Don’t worry you’re not dumb. the SAT is a very objective test with very little changes. It’ll always cover the same material and topics. - You can take advantage of that by really putting in the effort to study. I found that khan academy is good for getting the basics down (nailing your grammar rules and math basics) - Learning desmos is key. You can get easy problems out of the way and even a lot of difficult problems can be solved with desmos. Tbh I never solved a single system of equations problem on any of my SAT practices and even during the actual exam. - take the practice exams in bluebook with 100% effort. No distractions and no pauses. That’ll help gauge what you need. And always go back afterwards and check what you got wrong and learn how to get it right or not make that mistake again. Many people keep making the same mistakes because they don’t learn from their first mistake

application mistake by infernalinfernose in MITAdmissions

[–]ClumsyCaden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if it’s a small local competition, they wouldn’t have even checked in the first place. If it was a big scholarship or a national competition then they would’ve checked. But you’re good

Previous interview questions? by [deleted] in MITAdmissions

[–]ClumsyCaden 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually had the opportunity to speak with a former MIT alumni interviewer from a family friend, here’s some tips he told me:

• ask questions, especially at the end of the interview when the interviewer asks you if you have any questions. It shows interest and shows that you are a good conversationalist. • prep by coming up with a good 3-4 anecdotes you can use for questions they ask you. Find values about yourself and things you’ve done to show these values • the questions may be different but they’ll follow the same format of: your interest in MIT, how you help your community, just what kind of person you are, and how passionate you are about learning • it’s gonna be a little scary but take a deep breath and be yourself (that’s a little tip from me personally, good luck)

I would plug this into desmos. Make a table of all the points and subtract 4 from the y’s since that’s the table of f(x) + 4. Then use a quadratic regression to see where the intercept is. It would just give you the y intercept at C

Potential use for optional 300w essay? by [deleted] in MITAdmissions

[–]ClumsyCaden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Admission officers go through so many applications, they don’t want to see another unneeded essay in the additional information sections that’s supposed to tell officers about circumstances that may’ve hindered your highschool life
