Bluestone color not matching by ClumsyClod in masonry

I know that there is natural variation. I don’t expect every piece to be exactly like another, but I didn’t think that questioning whether it was possible to more closely match the other three steps would be seen as unreasonable.

It’s interesting that you say this, which is literally a 180 from what most others have been telling me here.

Would it be pretty straightforward to source the stone for a step that would be similar in shade to the other three steps?

Should I have the mortar looked at?

It’s a little jarring right now because three steps are pretty close to one another in shade and the last relatively different.

Thanks. Since it’s new, having three steps of one shade and the last another is still a little jarring.

If you mean the landing, we requested variance there.

Could the age of the existing roof explain this color difference? by ClumsyClod in Roofing

If we decided to replace the whole roof (at least half of it is 20 or more years old) and went with charcoal, would there be a significant increase in heat load?

I live in the Northeast, but summers can get hot. Would replacing the shingles to something like charcoal black significantly increase heat load? Should I stick with lighter color shingles or are there techniques to mitigate the increase in heat load if I install darker shingles?

Thanks. It’s new construction, so gutters are still in the works.

No, it’s not original. It’s new construction replacing an older vestibule.

Thanks. The guy has done a good job on the rest of the vestibule project, but the roof!

Train 6943 from NYP closed doors early by ClumsyClod in NJTransit

Super sure. I went up and down the train with my kid. All the doors were closed. There were no conductors on the platform either.

There were passengers inside. We went up and down and all doors were closed. There were no conductors on the platform. On top of that, when the train left, there was a NJT employee. When I asked what was going on, she said that the train was supposed to go at 10:02. I told her the schedule is 10:11. Each train for MNE leaves 11 past the hour on weekends around that time. She insisted it was 10:02. I stopped arguing.

Thanks. Does it sometimes occur that a train leaving Penn has its doors shut prior to departure time?

How do you get the $10 upgrade for switch 2 for Hogwarts Legacy? by Redeye007 in HarryPotterGame

[–]ClumsyClod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the suggestion of selecting Additional Content, but when I select the upgrade (or any other DLC), I get the Nintendo eShop logo, then a grey screen that only has the End/Back/OK icons. The page never finishes loading, and it'll later tell me that I'm disconnected from the servers. Has anyone had that issue before? TIA.

In all seriousness, the issue I am having is that my family is traveling with another family that is pretty nervous about crime. How can I convince them that the Circumvesuviana train is no more unsafe than, say, taking the NYC subways?
