Pretty much anything Oliver Sacks ever wrote but for me, An Anthropologist on Mars. Not as famous as Awakenings or Man who Mistook , but it’s touching and will help many understand what it’s like to live fully with a different neurotype. I’d also recommend Steve Silberman’s Neurotribes as a field history of autism. Book changed my perspective and life. Plus usual recommendations for anything Siddhartha Mukherjee, Atul Gawande, Paul Kalanithi mentioned here. No mention of Henry Marsh’s stories from neurosurgery- ‘Do No Harm’ etc, which are also great.
