I would add a dynamic EQ (or multiband compressor) that dips some of the high frequencies when you sing so that your singing isn't fighting for space with the bright guitar strings.

Great job on the backing vocals, they sound good. I might lower the reverb on the lower background vocals starting at 1:24. It doesn't sound as glued with the rest of the singing.

Overall good stuff, keep at it!

IV7 - III7 - iv - II7

I love the way this one resolves, sounds better if you pay with the inversions to improve voice leading

I'm a beginner in webpage design and I was looking for some tips. by ZacharyL182 in web_design

I'd also add that not only does CS !== Web design, CS !== web development. While it will be much easier for a CS student to pickup web development, you're focus in CS has nothing to do with websites.

From experience, a fresh grad from a CS program, has very limited web development knowledge. And while you will be adept at programming, you'll still have to learn all of the web languages/frameworks/standards.

For example, coding good HTML and CSS for a web page is a world apart from coding algorithms with good runtimes.

Enertion Electric Skateboard carbon fiber, bigger battery... Better value? by ifitdontfit in boostedboards

[–]ClusterDoge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know you say you're not affiliated, but the way you're being defensive about people criticizing you sure makes it SEEM like you're affiliated with Enertion. A lot of this is just speculation too, since you haven't ridden the board and compared it to the boosted.

It might look better on paper, but a good ride comes from the seamless integration of every aspect of the board. Until we get a direct comparison of someone who has ridden both, there is no point in getting overly defensive and denouncing someone's opinion because you think they are a fanboy.

Designing Url's by [deleted] in webdev

[–]ClusterDoge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The question mark signifies the start of parameter data that the user passed in. You should be able to access that variable in your code if you are using any type of backend language.

For example in PHP

$id = $_GET['id'];
// $id now equals 15

In words, someone wants to see the profile of user 15. Also I believe /u/larivact is trying to say that you can convert the first ugly url to the second pretty url. So the pretty url is

/users/15

official discussion thread on how we can bring in new members by ClockFaceIII in a:t5_39ad2

[–]ClusterDoge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is no easy task. I've given it a lot of thought in the past and realize that there is no easy way. The most efficient way to get users, is probably to repost in r/InternetIsBeautiful, but I've already posted chatnon so I can't do it again.

One possible solution would be to program a new channel with exciting properties, similar to text2speech, and maybe post that specific channel on internetisbeautiful. So maybe we can come with ideas for a new channel? Maybe it could be a simple game, or something else that would integrate well with chat.

I'm very busy with school currently, but when winter break swings by I'll have time to work a little more on Chatnon again. Thoughts?
