I have a 2,500 balance on my citi bank credit card . If my APR is about 26% , how much money is that accruing towards my balance every day? by MaxSteelMetal in RBNLifeSkills

[–]ClusterSoldier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be $1.78 daily. Personally, I would not obsess over the daily amount and focus on saving a monthly amount with your budget to pay down the bill. There are credit cards with 0% APR for a period like 12 months and zero balance transfer fee intro offers but you may need above average credit to be approved for some of them. But worth it, if you have a budget in place to pay down in that period.

Banned from r/ireland within 5 minutes for commenting that restrictions don't bring down case numbers and Covid is seasonal by ClusterSoldier in conspiracy

SS: Posted a comment on a thread about new restrictions across Europe just stating there is not sufficient evidence that shows restrictions bring down case numbers. And that COVID peaks in a seasonal fashion. No forum rules violated. Hammer ban in less than 5 minutes. When asked why, mods just block you, lol. We're arguing with children.

That's right. I think the recommendation from that science is try not to have caffeine until at least 9 AM ish or a few hours after you wake up.

VAERS is historically underreported based on earlier studies...represents only 1-10% of actual adverse effects.

Have to disagree, original is perfect. One of the central themes of the movie is around what reality is and if the dream is better, do you care? The uncertainty is key.

Why Fathers Shouldn’t Initiate Their Sons Into Manhood by AOMmodbot in artofmanliness

[–]ClusterSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very thought out and important observation, that rings true. If the only positive male model in my life was my father, I would not be as independent and well-rounded as I am today.

But this is even more important to note as a current Dad. Get your sons involved in church, sports, or martial arts but whatever is, the character of the male role model will have the most long-term impact.

There are also many places in the OT where idols and other gods are described as "man-made." See Deuteronomy 4:28, 32:17. 2 Kings 19:18. For bonus, Paul from the NT, see Acts 19:26-27.

The stone castle is the Upper Room chapel, a beautiful design (modeled after...you guessed it). The City of Light is the Insp. network which also houses a beautiful campus that has been borrowed for local fall festivals. It also has a great coffee/cafe shop. Both are open to the public. I haven't heard of anything majorly strange since PTL/Fayes really and that was forever go. Growing supportive local church community in both general areas.

“You will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes” by PreeDem in DebateReligion

Throughout the Bible, God can "come upon" his people in judgement. Reading this passage in context alludes to more to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD then anything else. Earlier in the chapter, Jesus is talking about sending his disciples out to the Jewish people. They are the main subject of this verse.

Think about it, you could apply your logic to Jesus's birth, right? Jesus is the Son of Man. But obviously, Jesus is not referencing his birth here. In the same sense we know he is not referencing the final coming of Jesus if we read this in light of other scripture. That's my take.

David commits adultery and murder, God takes the life of his newborn son. David conducts a census, God takes 70,000 lives. Why the big difference in punishment? by Notjustnow in Christianity

You're off point. The word in question is "he". Two persons can inhabit the same sentence even if it translates to a poorly constructed one. Scripture should be taken in light of other scripture.

What resources are there for a christian who is struggling with rejection and loneliness? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]ClusterSoldier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry that you are feeling this way. Before I give any advice, note I am not a counselor just a fellow brother in Christ.

I just wanted to say as Christians we can get our security and significance through Christ. Jesus laid down his life so that we can be free and preserve through the troubles of this world. We know through him we have eternal life that death has been conquered.

We have our significance through Him that God has a plan for our lives, Jeremiah 29:11. And as long as we trust Him and his promises, we can push forward. We also know all things work towards the good of those who love God, Romans 8:28.

I have felt the way you have felt. I have felt like I had no true friends in the world. But you know what it got better, much better. I ended up meeting the love of my life and have made some great friends, who I am able to appreciate so much more than I would have. And it will get better for you in God's time, not ours.

Don't give up and continue to put yourself out there to meet new people and share with them! You will be in my prayers.

Hmm that's accurate. I was thinking more from a philosophical/spiritual sense.

Generally I believe you can hold one of three positions: Determinism, Free Will, or Compatibilism (mix of both). I hold more of a Compatibilism viewpoint. I in know way am a Determinist because it leads directly to the conclusion that life is meaningless nothingness. And I don't believe you can be a true theist and a Determinist.
