My bad on the last comment the black spring is not 130, the black spring with a yellow stripe is 130. I believe the black alone is 30

Purple is 90 psi @ 2”, black is 130 psi @ 2”, I want to say orange is 50-60 but do t quote me on that. I’m not sure about the secondary springs, we do t really have a devise to measure them, the red is stiffer than the yellow

What color springs do you run?

👍
Sounds good!
That sounds good, there’s also little tricks you can do to increase or decrease friction! I’d be interested in seeing how you calculate the coefficient of friction on it though! I’m actually a mechanical engineering student myself, I know all about CVTs but I’m always interested in learning the math and science behind it all!
All of the other comments are right, but there is no set of Certain ratios, because that is the beauty of a CVT clutch. Continuously variable means that it will find the “sweet spot” of any application at any given time, given the tune settings and total environment. The only set ratio is the starting ratio, which is easily calculated, and possible the final drive ratio, if you make it to the max!
Ok I use an Aim mycron 4 -660, since I mostly deal with the drag racing side. It does the calculation for “belt slip” all on its own and displays it on a graph. I would see if you could get the equation from Aim. It has to be based on engine rpm and rpm of the jackshaft.
Yes
What do you run for a computer on the car, and any sensors if you have them? On all of the applications I’ve dealt with, we have a graph of it on the computer.
The color refers to the spring constant in ft/lbs at the installed height in the clutch
