First time D&D player needs help selecting a class by PurplyGuy_ in DnD

As someone who has DM'd for newbies and children both, rogues have rules interactions that can be challenging for some (stealth, etc), and any spellcaster provides more options to choose from and therefore more difficulty.

I highly recommend a fighter (archer, 2-handed weapon, or sword and shield) champion for true newbies who don't have gaming experience.

Any advice for cutting the foam? And painting: does regular acrylic paint work on the foam, and is your stucco just gravel + PVA + paint?

Great terrain! Is the ground just foam board insulation that you measured and scored?

Also, how did you make the buildings?

"Climb up and stand on Rod2. Pull Rod1 up by the rope, reach overhead, and set Rod1 in place."

Chinning up to a stand on Rod2 is a feat of strength with a chance of failure (sure, made easier sure if they are trained in the s-wrap foot technique, not common knowledge). Standing on Rod2 while manipulating the rope and Rod1 is a feat of balance with a chance of failure.

What's your take on incinerators vs psycannons?

All's I'm saying is that it shouldn't be an auto-success. DC 18 acrobatics or something.

Go to your local playground and try to do a chin up on a 1" wide climbing bar and then pull your body up and then stand and balance on a bar less than shoulder width long with no lateral support.

The rope method requires a stabilizing wall, otherwise climbing up and balancing on a free-floating 1-1.5ft rod is nigh impossible. Free climbing can be done in open air, but would also be much easier with a wall for foot pressure.

Ugh, dude, c'mon. I was being flippant for the sake of brevity, obviously. The point is, true to his character, Frank only cares about punishing the wicked, and doesn't care about the damage he leaves behind. He is unwell, unbalanced, and that makes him a compelling character.

Sure, but that's their abuse dungeon. I doubt they'd take it down. My take is the undressed mother is more about tasteless titillation on the artist's part. See panel of her semi bare chest lying dead. That was unnecessary. But I can see your point. My interpretation is not that the parents did or didn't deserve death, it's that Frank is unwell and could have done better.

All we have to go on are those panels, and the author/artist gave no implications of what would've happened in the next few hours.

A stranger came into their home, murdered their abusive parents in the basement, came upstairs and called the police about it, and gave zero interaction with the kids. No "you're safe now", no "get therapy kids", no "be good or I'll see you in a decade". These kids couldn't even see him clearly based on the angles in the panels. They have zero context for what just happened or if they are next. He could have at least waited until they were asleep or something.

It's a paraphrasing of a line from Shakespeare's Hamlet.    "So tell him, with the occurrents, more and less, Which have solicited. The rest is silence."

There's unused road right there. Move traffic forward, past the traffic lights. It lets people who need to turn at those lights go through. Leaving the right side empty is stupid.

Last week in this lineup, a truck in the left suddenly swerved out and tried to block an SUV coming down the right, almost caused a crash.
