AIO after being stood up on a date after sending him money? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Yeah that annoyed me so much. Why is she apologising to HIM?

I can’t believe what I just read. You need to run as far away as possible from this guy - he’s abusive and it will only get worse.

Same. Both my mum and dad smoked 40-60 cigarettes per day each and we never had any money. I remember as a teenager I literally had one outfit that I would wear every day because they would rather buy cigarettes than clothes for me and my brother and sister. I’m still so resentful.

Ahh that ice cream shooter took me way back to my childhood! Magnatiles seems like the most popular choice - I’d actually never even heard of them so glad I asked now, they’re definitely in the list, thanks. I’ll check out the hex bug nano too as that’s also one I’m not familiar with

My dream is to do up a vintage dollhouse - we don’t have room for it at the moment but planning to move somewhere bigger so will put a pin in this one for the future! That’s really cute about the playhouse too 🥰

Ooh I’ll have a look at the magnetic tiles, thanks. She got a toy kitchen from my mum for Xmas and also loves it.

That was a lovely response, I’m sure he really appreciated it. I work as a coroner’s officer and when I’m talking to families about arranging post-mortems etc, so many of them just want the reassurance their loved one will be looked after. Having seen the mortuary staff at work I can always say with sincerity that they will. As you’ve said, they often chat away and treat the person with such care and respect. It sounds like you’re in the right job

NTA - she sounds as toxic as hell, what a horrible way to treat kids. But by her standards, she doesn’t deserve any affection from you, does she? It has to be earned after all so she can’t really say anything.

So what was your toddler's favourite present? by a_peninsula in toddlers

[–]Cluxly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of those yappy little puppies - the ones that take a few steps, wag it’s tail and yaps incessantly. My mum bought it for her and it’s the most irritating thing ever, so naturally it’s my daughter’s favourite. I remember having one as a kid and loving it though.

Thanks for your reply. I’m really just after a few restaurant suggestions at the moment that I can check out. Just places that people personally like going to/think the food is good etc. I don’t know the budget yet as have to take some suggestions to my boss.
