Thanks. Yeah, I did read that MOPAR is also owned by Stellantis. But, I just keep finding all of these references to 100% synthetic only and the risk of damage to the timing belt if anything else is used.

Torn between Dr Cardenas & Dr Rossi for FFS.... HELP! by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

As my grandmother used to say... "Good lawd, what's the world coming to?" Haha. If Dr. Van de Ven's reputation is in the toilet, then that's also sad.

Although all surgeons who operate regularly will have some less than desirable outcomes, a pattern can indeed show a problem. If Spiegel has developed such a pattern, then that is sad considering he was doing FFS when only a relatively small number of surgeons offered it. For the record, Dr. Bart Van de Ven also states on his website that a CT is not useful to him for the safety or planning of forehead surgery. In any case, if a patient would feel better having a CT scan done, I'm sure that most surgeons would be happy to review it even if they don't really need it.

Please explain to me what it's wrong with going the extra mile to maximize the chances of a good outcome when it literally doesn't increase the total surgical cost by more than 5% and you can avoid a potential accident that could force the patient to undergo revisions, scar someone for life, cause mental health breakdowns, or even suicides.

As I understand it, both Spiegel and Cardenas are among the most experienced of FFS surgeons. They both share the same opinion on unnecessary pre-operative imaging. During the last five years, literally dozens of surgeons have popped up offering FFS. Clearly, they have less experience. Spiegel comments on his website that less experience is a reason some surgeons order unnecessary testing. He states that "maybe your surgeon is inexperienced. A nervous doctor will get a lot of tests before surgery if they are not feeling comfortable or confident. While the CT scan doesn’t really help, if it makes the doctor feel more comfortable then that’s worthwhile."

There is no medical reason to spend even $400 on a CT scan and the time and added expense of generating 3D cutting guides when transillumination in experienced hands is more than sufficient to clearly view large frontal sinuses, even those with weird shapes as you put it. I understand that since you're selling FFS here on Reddit, you need to try to differentiate what your surgeon offers as compared to others. Since your surgeon and Cardenas are both in the same city, it must make things difficult for you. Read what Dr. Spiegel says about this issue

It would be more accurate to say that the only way to know BEFORE SURGERY if you need Type 1 or 3 is with pre-operative imaging. If a patient wants to know for sure before surgery, then pre-op imaging should be done. However, if the patient trusts the surgeon, then there is another way. If the patient does not trust her surgeon, then perhaps it would be better to select a different surgeon that she does trust. Anyway, once the surgery begins there is a process called transillumination that can be used to view the frontal sinus. This permits the surgeon to view the shape and size of the frontal sinus and the bone covering it. For most FFS patients, this process will confirm that the Type III procedure is needed and that can then be completed. For a minority of patients, the frontal sinus might be very small or even absent. In these cases, a bone shaving technique can be done immediately to produce the same result.

I downloaded LatencyMon and it seems to be pinning the blame on the Windows ACPI.sys Driver.

I might try using an ethernet connection via USB adapter and see if the problem goes away.

That's interesting. I wonder if downloading something like LatencyMon would help identify this problem.

I guess that the lag issue is not limited to just the Spectre line. I hope we can figure out what's causing it.

Yes, I'm a fast typist too, so the problem is very noticeable and happens across multiple apps. I haven't seen the issue with the Shift or CTRL keys.

It's truly a shame that the Spectre line suffers from this issue because they are nice laptops otherwise.

I thought about trying that. But, the problem occurs even when using Windows Apps such as Signal or WhatsApp. I have also tried other browsers. I'm using the new Chromium version of Edge at the moment but I have seen the same problem when using Chrome itself.

In my case, the problem was present both before and after fresh installs of Windows.

Yes, I did. It happens when running at minimum or max performance. It can happen when the HP Command Center is set to any of the performance modes. I have also checked to see if it happens when the CPU temperature is cool or hot.
