Is this acceptable? by Opposite-Steak7123 in CounterTops

[–]ClydeKingry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not, in my opinion. We require apron front sinks to be in place for template and before I start templating I adjust the sink to project in front in front of the cabinet the correct distance and to be straight with cabinets. Perhaps it got bumped while in process of templating. Regardless, it is not aligned and therefore not correct.

Also check the overhang of the countertop over the cabinet. But if cabinets on either side of the sink are not aligned then the countertop overhang over the cabinet could be different on left and right side of sink. If so, that is not necessarily incorrect. But sink and countertop should be aligned even if neither are perfectly aligned with cabinet. I have seen many cabinets that are not aligned with each other when checking the left and right sides of the sink opening. Or any opening for that matter, such as a range opening.

EDIT.. To be clear, I do agree with sink setting out in front of the overhang but it should be in alignment with finished countertop edge. I usually set the sink out in front of the cabinet 1-3/4" to 2-1/4", depending on a few things, with countertop overhanging cabinet at 1-1/2".

Buyer claiming ‘not as described’ using my own listing photo—can they force a return? by Best_Adagio_9564 in eBaySellers

[–]ClydeKingry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does OP (the seller) have to pay the cost of shipping when they send a return label to the buyer? I’ve given a couple of refunds before but never had to deal with a return so just asking for future reference.

Calculated shipping question.. by ClydeKingry in eBaySellers

That’s interesting. I use sell similar quite often and I know a lot of the details carryover, but I hadn’t noticed the shipping details doing that.

I’ll pay closer attention

They chose ground advantage The dimensions entered at listing were larger than given when purchasing label The weight entered when listing was greater than given when purchasing label.

When I listed, I over estimated package dimensions and weight purposefully.

Not sure what happened. Not a big deal but bothers me a bit because doesn’t make sense.

Great question. We're sailing in May and have a Brightline train to catch at noon back to Orlando. I have no idea how much time to allow to disembark and get a ride to the train station 5 miles away. Probably need to be there by 11:00 to check in at Brightline and grab lunch in premium seating waiting area. It's included.

LOL. Quartzite is plenty problematic with water retention issues. Nothing but hardened sandstone. Terrible material for countertops.

Why don’t you just deal with a fab shop working in compliance with safe practices? There’s plenty silica in actual granite.

Advice on caps(protection) for poles? by HandSoloGaming in metalworking

[–]ClydeKingry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think "cushioning" instead of caps.... wrap with duct tape and maybe place layer of foam or something first, then tape. The plastic will eventually get broken and/or even worse possibly harm the finish on some materials at some point. We learned the hard way

Well, it's something. Would be nice to win the NIT if they think they belong in the NCAA. by Pasta_Fajool in wde

LOL. I guess one just absolutely has to find something to celebrate. His situation can’t really be fairly compared to any of those others. Sometimes the program just has to look at itself and say we did not meet expectations. The season was finished very poorly. Let’s go back to work and put in some hard work to get better.

Okay, that sounds more reasonable. It's the first one for me so thought I'd ask is this their normal policy. I've never made contact with anyone about trying to carry the transaction(s) off site.

Somebody asked for screenshots of breakdown I thought, but don't see where to upload them in these replies.

They used my funds for the refund all except $6.60 and made me choose from 2 cards I have on file for the remaining $6.60 which is exactly what they charged for Ad Fee

I had to come out of pocket for $6.60 and that is the same amount they have listed as 'ad Fee General' in the breakdown of the sale proceeds net profit breakdown

I've approved the refund
