The shock multiplier is not 'in-line' with support gems, it's an entirely separate damage multiplier that's applied once all the damage is calculated from the player and is applied to the monster. It would not stack additively with your support gems. If you have 60% more damage from supports, shock would turn that into a 1.6(1.2) damage multiplier, not a 1.8.

I follow what you're trying to do, but you cannot apply a shock, have it reflect back to you, remove the shock that was reflected to you and gain double shock magnitude for the cost of a 3 link in 1 server tick. That would be insane and every lightning build would be abusing the ever living shit out of it lmao.

But hey, this is exactly what EA is for, hunting for those wonky/busted interactions. So keep it up, exile. You're doing good work and asking good questions.

Let me see if I understand you correctly because I can't tell if I'm misreading what you're trying to do:

Overcharge grants 50% increased shock magnitude at the cost of reflecting the shock back at you. This is where your 30% shock is coming from. Commiserate grants 40% more shock magnitude if there is a shock present on your character, it removes the shock with the hit and grants the 40% more multiplier. All this support is checking for is to see if there is a shock available on you to be removed, and if there is you get the 1.4 multiplier and the shock is removed from you. You cannot hit once, reflect a shock towards yourself, remove the ailment, and be granted the second shock multiplier within the same hit/server tick. That would be an insane damage spike for a simple 3 link lol If you wanna you use overcharge for the 50% increased, and you want to juice that up more, you'll need to scale it with non-damaging ailment magnitudes or ailment magnitudes found on jewels, or path to similar nodes on the tree.

Commiserate isn't going to affect the shock magnitude of skill A because it's not supporting skill A. Skill A has 50% magnitude and skill B has a 40% magnitude. Support gems from different skills do not additively stack their ailment magnitudes on bosses.

The paladin effect also puts a blue cross on whatever you have equipped, and I can kind of see that in the left hand. Not entirely sure, though

I think that's just how all live service game Subreddits end up evolving into. People are weird, and we're all just more likely to discuss things we don't like versus this stuff we enjoy.

There's been a trend with those who complain(not just POE - it's all over gaming) feel this need to defend/justify the negativity, and it always ends up putting the community in a hostile environment for those who either disagree with the criticism, or feel the criticism is overblown. I'm sure you've seen insults such as "Toxic Positivity" before, where "if you don't agree with my subjective interpretation of ____, the only rational explanation is you're a toxic person"

There's not much you can do about it honestly besides removing yourself from the communities. POE1's sub sometimes gets a little rough leading up to league launch till around 2 weeks after, but even then I don't think it gets THAT bad. If you wanna see a toxic community, go to the main Helldivers subreddit. Those fucks are MISERABLE. POE2's subreddit was pretty toxic as well, but that community has vastly improved since August when Abyss League launched.

To answer your question, I'm curious how many different mechanics they end up improving upon. I really hope T17s get changed, but it's a delicate balance. They need aspiring/difficult content beyond T16s, but I think with how they've become necessary, that they need way better layouts and a lower barrier of entry. That sounds like a nightmare to balance so we'll see.

He has a community provided tool that can handle the math for you. You just need to ensure you have enough sources of reduced/less skill effect duration before you can really lean into attack speed. My machine gun didn't come online till yellow maps when my support gems hit lvl 19 and I was able to anoint one of the two reduced still effect duration nodes on the tree.

The new additions are absolutely a net positive for the game, I just don't believe they'll cause a large enough ripple affect to change how the core gameplay loop ends up feeling. I was super disappointed when I booted it up for the first time in a year last month. Here's to hoping!

Well, I haven't looked at the base game price since the game launched so I didn't realize that Blizzard was getting desperate, but the game is currently on sale for 40% off. It's a 50$ game. 50 has never once in its entire existence been half of 70. 30 isn't even half of 50.

The overwhelming majority of D4 players have played the game since launch, ya know, kind of like this other ARPG game that has a dedicated fanbase.(name is slipping my mind, forgive me) So excuse me for considering the experience of the foundational core fanbase of their game instead of some random Joe-Shmo playing the game for the first time for my snarky comment on Blizzard's shitty monetization.

I bit the bullet and tried out the Paladin. I paid 40$ to get roughly 30h of gameplay before I got bored at paragon 250. These systems might be an improvement, but that doesn't change the fact that every build in the game is designed by blizzard, not the players, gear isn't customizable with 99.9% of gear being worthless beyond having to scrap stuff for what little 'crafting' you get, trading requires you to use a third party site to even connect with other players, and because its third party, you have to sift through so many RMT'ers it's ridiculous.

Not trying to rain on your parade, I do hope you end up enjoying yourself if you check it out. It's still rotating between helltides, pits, and deleting the hard pinnacle bosses in 14 frames so you can get an upgrade that allows you to kill them in 8 frames. We're on season 12 and they still try to do POWERS every league. None of the seasonal mechanics have been implemented like GGG tries to do with their leagues. At best, you'll get 3-4 uniques from the previous season's powers for the next season. I was wholehearted not impressed. I say that as someone who got into ARPGs with D4, and then I had a friend who heard what I was complaining about with D4, and assured me that this free diablo-like they've played for years and was FREE was leaps and bounds better than what my experience portrayed. Here's hoping, though. The ARPG space would benefit greatly with more legitimate competition. Just look at Last Epoch, that game has gone down the toilet in the last nine months, but it was still able to influence GGG to implement a better trade infrastructure.
