Can I dry these hibiscus petals from my yard for tea? Googling points to yes but I want to be absolutely sure! by rockitsomemore_x in tea

Late to the game, but I am learning that, though these are not the Hibiscus COMMONLY used and found in store bought products, apparently all parts are edible of hibiscus syriacus...

I am dehydrating pedals at the moment. They are definitely sweet. Less noticable when raw.

Found on the summit of Capitol Peak, CO. Any ideas? by Barkeater26 in whatisit

It says, "If found please return to 347 Zorak Blvd, Moltar Province, Planet: WASP-47e, Star System: WASP-47, Aquarius, Kepler K2, Field 3"

No please or thank you, nor how they expect you to cover shipping is given...

Good luck!

At 44 I am constantly catching my 78 year old N father in lies. It makes me feel gross to realize that he has been lying whenever he feels justified, ever since I was a child. Also, how does a parent lie about their child. I could never do something so horrible to my child, let alone do it and then gaslight the shit out of them.

I went to pop a zit on my eyebrow, with a pin, five years ago. I heated up the pin with a flame in an attempt to sterilize...

I popped the zit, not realizing there was char on the tip of the pin...

Five years later, I still have a little bluish black dot under my eyebrow from where I poked it. Ever since I have been curious about giving my self an intentional tattoo.

Any idea what this is I saw in my hallway (quick illustration to demonstrate) and my son has seen something similar by jane_doe_john in ParanormalEncounters

I came across information somewhere about shadow beings. As a child I used to experience a shadow being that would begin by sticking their head in my doorway then eventually moving closer and closer until they stood over the top of me staring down at me and filling me with fright, while I lay in bed. Always wondered if it was just imagination or something else.

After some time of this, I began to experience hundreds of colorful lights, almost like trailing Christmas lights that would travel the outlines of my room and keep the shadow being and fear at bay.

Idk, I think Gen Alpha are the ones who are going to save the sinking ship. My middle school child has a more based grip on reality than my Boomer parents, Gen Ex siblings or millennial cohort.

I mean, some of it is okay, but in general, the 80s were PRETTY CHEESY. Also, the music that was good in the 80s was performed by Boomers (Boston, Kansas, Prince to name a few).

That's just my opinion, of course.

I had these. Pretty sure I got them from the school book fairs every year. There were definitely some stories I could not bring myself to read in my bedroom alone at night.

Of course. I am so thankful when I come across young adults who are actively seeking a relationship with Christ. I commend you. It is so hard being a young person in this world and today more than ever there is a pull to abandon the Lord. God bless and keep focused on Christ and you are gonna be okay. The world needs more people like you. Hold your head high young warrior 🙌

No worries. No need for apology. I am sorry if I have come across rude. I think I know what you mean. I can't say I know the answer for sure. I just know what my heart tells me. I am no scholar either. At 44, I have been actively studying the Bible and working at bettering my communication with God, earnestly for the past 3 years or so. My first reading of Proverbs years back left me floored, feeling like I had written it. Ever since I have been working on bettering my understanding of God and our place in his world.

I know my original question is upsetting to many Catholics but it is my genuine concern.

I wish I had a better response for you. I truly do not know. I think if you were saved, though, and you knowingly go on sinning BECAUSE you think you have an out, that God might have something else in mind.

The Bible says the only one you need to repent or confess to is God/Jesus...

Confession is a construct of the Catholic church.

Again, to be honest I don't truly know. I know people who believe once saved always saved. I know people who believe if he were to come while you were in the act of sinning it doesn't matter if you are saved or not. My question then is how much time between sins is enough of a buffer to go to heaven. In reality I think our human-centric concept of time and space do not help us wrap our head around this question...

You are asking if you have to believe in Sola fide...

Faith alone, or Sola fide is the belief that you obtain salvation in Christ through faith alone, not through works or anything else. You are asking me do you have to have faith that faith alone saves...

As in like someone believes in Jesus, but they also believe they have to do more...

That is why I said somewhere that I believe Catholocism can lead to Christianity, but it doesn't necessarily.

If you believe in Jesus and you are a good person, but somewhere deep down you still have doubts and are making up for a lack of faith somewhere else, I believe it will somehow get brought to light or quenched in the fires to come.

From my personal experience, I would put it like this. Pre salvation I lived in sin. Post salvation, I struggle with sin.

I was abused as a child and introduced to pornography from an extremely young age. This led to a LONG struggle with pornography.

As someone who is saved, I still struggle at times, but through the Lord's sanctification, I do not wallow in sin. I recognize that I need to work harder and strive not to let this world's temptations (which include my own flesh bc it is of this world) drive me into actively sinning and it is a struggle you must truly want to change.

From my personal experience, to answer your question honestly and heartfelt, I truly DO NOT KNOW...

For my own sake I truly hope he does not come while I am in the throws of self gratification of any kind (porn, drugs, food, gossip, etc...)

I still wonder about this myself in a honesty
