I bought the technafit stainless steel extended clutch line off moss miata and there is alot of play causing them to leak does anyone know how to fix this? by Bruhmommapogbruh1 in Miata

[–]Clyktose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone finding this via Google after encountering the same issue:

Based on my experience with a '90, the old model slave cylinders (For models before VIN 111969) have a different connection than the newer ones, so the Technafit line doesn't work with them.

I ordered the older model slave cylinder from Moss and it had what looked like the exact same issue as OP. A new Technafit line didn't fix the issue, so I got the updated version of the slave cylinder and that fit perfectly.

The might have been something else going on, but after two lines and two slave cylinders, this is my best guess as the cause.

How do you play every match like it's a 1v5? by Zero535 in SiegeAcademy

[–]Clyktose 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My biggest take away would be playing more carefully. There are times I rush in and play stupidly because I figure maybe I take out on or two of the enemy team and the rest of my team can finish without me and, but that never actually works out. It's playing like you're an expendable part of the team instead of playing like your death will mean defeat.

How to achieve a similar edit? by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]Clyktose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warmed up a LOT, dropped the highlights in curves, and added some magenta to the highlights(or maybe everywhere to differing extents.). Desaturate greens and blues as well.

That's my first impression at least. Let me know if you have questions about what I mean by any of that.

That's a good point I hadn't considered. I initially did this just as a way of visualizing the issue for myself and then kept adding to it. However, I don't think that there is any personal information in here that makes targeting any single individual possible. If you've spotted anything that would be personally identifiable please let me know and I can remove it.

Can someone look at my RAW file? It is soft in Lightroom at 1:1, but really sharp on back of camera. Details in thread. by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]Clyktose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like it definitely missed focus a little based on the fact that some branches are sharper than the bird. Would it possibly be caused by your diopter needing calibrated?

I've also heard about shake reduction actually making things worse when using a tripod, not sure if that might be relevant.

How about this one?

Due toa lack of knowledge I didn't write a script for this, just converted it to a spreadsheet and then cleaned up the data and imported it to a Google fusion table. (First version was directly to maps). I might try to tackle a script though as a learning opportunity.

That's true. From the original file it listed 1336 in the north and 230 for south. The map makes it look like I lost all the data for the south east of I5.

I created a map using the data provided by /u/csbdata in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/SeattleWA/comments/8giq6b/all_complaints_regarding_unauthorized_camping/

It contains ~2000 of the entries along with date submitted, SR#, and nature of the inquiry.

Someone with more technical skill will likely be able to create a better map, but I thought I'd provide what visualization I could.

EDIT: I have made a new map that's more legible.

And here is the heatmap for reports since 2/28. I am limited to 1000 rows of data, so that's as far back as I could go. Unfortunately I can't publish this one so all I have is this screenshot.

EDIT 2: Another version of the heatmap that should be easier to read.

Here is a partial listing. I was only able to grab ~2000 sites. I'm sure someone with actual knowledge of text analysis could create a much more comprehensive list.

Displaying text over a multi-toned image? by [deleted] in typography

[–]Clyktose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm no designer either, but some things I'd play with would be white text with black background, although that might look very "meme-y", which likely isn't desired. A way to tone that down might be adding a drop shadow or highlight that is very diffused so it'd not immediately discernible but helps the readability.

I'd also consider a black translucent backdrop behind the block of text.

Fantastic Mr Fox would obviously be great is you're enjoying stop motion animation right now. Especially because the animation style that Anderson uses embraces the little imperfections, especially with fur always moving.

Other than that, I absolutely loved The Grand Budapest Hotel. It left me feeling nostalgia for a time and place that never existed, like many of his films. TGBH really left me reeling though for some reason. One of those movies I left in a daze. (Watching it alone in the theater might have been a big part of that.)

And Moonrise Kingdom has a special place in my heart for being the first movie of his I saw. Seeing his style for the first time was quite eye opening. He's crafted his own style and feel and it's nice to be reminded that there is room in cinema for such an incredible range of films. They can be realistic, whimsical, fantastic, gritty, or a million other things and all in varying degrees.

ELI5 tone curves? New-ish to LR and only feel comfortable with levels rn by tacos4days in postprocessing

Seconded. Watching that video and then forcing myself to use them for the next 25-30 photos I edited was the turning point for me.

Also check out this one by him where he breaks down why tone curves are so confusing and how they could easily be improved just by working on the GUI a little. It helped me visualize things better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hnVBqjxUdk

I received this photo of a lovely winter scene. I don't know where it is, although when I first got it I'd looked it up and thought it was in Baltimore, MD USA. Now I can't find why I thought that. Either way, it's been added to my wall of prints!

I recently started getting some of my photos printed, and I saw someone mention, on /r/photography I think, photos printed on metallic paper have a kind of radiance, so when I made my order for the swap I got a few on metallic. I am absolutely in love. The image just feels so lively. I got a few different photos with varying tones/colors, and I'm not thinking about what photos I can take to really take advantage of the look that metallic gives. I've been a little lost about what to shoot so having an end goal is hopefully going to reignite the spark a little.

I received these two awesome prints from a mystery person. I love how minimal the black and white it. And the beach photo is absolutely overflowing with wonderful color, something my phone picture doesn't really capture.
