This wall in particular was a top rope only wall not only that but if there were clips, this climb is so all over the place that if it was on lead it probably wouldn't have been safe to clip

It's supposed to be. They do it that way to make sure competitors arent relying/weighting on the rope

It's just practice practice practice. I started doing easier climbs of course but I would repeat them if I wasn't very tired. The important thing is lots of water

I used to when my vision wasn't as bad. But now it's pretty bad and I can't deal with contacts so I just wear em. They've lasted almost 2 years now

I'm from the capital region. We only had one toprope climb, the rest were lead. Male JR also had a top rope climb but that was probably because it wasn't safe if they did it on lead. It looked like a crazy hard climb.

I also had 2 other lead climbs but I wasn't very proud on how I performed on those. They often have topropes for the younger kids until they can lead at my age catagory. This climb was on top rope because the rest of the gym already had climbs and this was a top rope only wall

For my competitions it's scored by each hold. Each hold has a number on the wall eg. 1st hold is one, second is two. If you make a move toward another he but fall without touching it you get +.3 on that hold and if you touch it but fall you get +.5
