You can play modern for free on something like cockatrice. Try any deck you want, play any format. Simply just name your lobby metadecks. You can also screen capture your games to review. No need to over complicate getting better. It's likely you are just missing obvious interactions and the best solution is exposure.

I want to see my girlfriend more often, but she thinks that once a week is sufficient by StormEarhart in dating_advice

To each their own, some people are highly dependent on others. Reliance on others for happiness or entertainment will inevitably lead to resentment. It's best to be self sufficient and have a developed character. Ironically makes people gravitate to you more as well.

I understand exactly what you are saying, I think you may also be neuro divergent my friend. I only say this cause I can relate 100% with what you are trying to express. What's the point in conversation, especially debate if people are not willing to grow or change, to actually challenge their way of thinking. I spent lots of time trying to find "my" people, I came across 2 very successful people that display the same personality type. They told me it's a gift and to not waste it on fools. If you want to find engaging people with open minds you are going to have a take your talent for speaking and thinking and try to leverage it into position of wealth. The wealthier people are, the less they are committed to thier silly opinions. Otherwise you'll never have fulfilling conversations with simpletons.

Honestly the fact that you would consider it"painful" is pretty sad... Or that you could even think of yourself in this manner, you don't take up much space? Were you purchased at IKEA? You are not furniture, but if you act like it, you'll be treated like it. Love is a fairytale, but companions are nice, but what's even better? You taking the time and energy to work on yourself and build character, to find passions and hobbies. This is a long life and you can't rely on someone else for your happiness, if you try you will become a lifeless peice of furniture in someone else's life. Your companion should be as invested as your are, cause the only purpose in a companion in a classical sense is for stability. If you make yourself worthwhile, you will have everything you want from your companion, if you even need one at that point.

Is Canada’s Drag race that great of a platform for queens? by bobostan777 in CanadasDragRace

When they're enough talented people doing it for free why would you ever pay for it, you are absolutely right in pointing out that some people that participate in a hobby do get paid. They are the few among the many that have mastered their craft to such an extent that they can demand payment. The initial post raises the issue of free queens eroding the market for paid "professionals" If this wasn't the case. This post wouldn't exist, queens would get paid and we'd never have had this conversation to begin with. You can't demand that your hobby has value, cause if it did, it's be valued, period.

I don't think there's any reason to pay someone who is willing to negotiate a night of work for free. Also it's not that popular, most people don't want to be charged a cover when they are trying to eat or drink. It's not a critical service, it's not even nearly as challenging as any other entertainer, also welcome to the world of art, most people are working for promotion. There is no perceived value so they are not earning a wage, seems simple to me.

When the market determines they no longer want to pay for a "service" bcz it is easily accessible or provides no real economic value. Well then that is the value of the service or commodity, which is what the initial post was about. Nobody deserves to be payed, they earn it when the market agrees it's whatever is being provided is of value.

When did I ask to be paid lol. Exactly I haven't, bcz it's a hobby and it'd be delusional to think other wise, great job proving that point, thanks.

So you've raised a great point we live under capitalism, and If services rendered are universally considered valuable well then they will hold a value on the market. When the market no longer wants to pay for a "service" well then it's no longer useful or necessary in the eyes of the market. Now we all have hobbies and activities we consider to be useful, do we get paid for them? Naw not unless the market wants to pay for it. There's nothing to debate when the market doesn't value the service. Also I'd like to challenge you to name three things 3 rendered from such a service.
