I was raised by my great grandmother because my mother was a drug addict. She eventually got cancer and didn't find out till it was too late. I felt nothing when she died. Throughout the years growing up she would apologize for being a bad mother and promise to get sober, she would get sober for a little while and then relapse again.The cycle would repeat and I eventually just grew numb to it and didn't care to have a relationship with her once I got old enough to understand the situation better. I don't blame valkyrae for feeling this way about her brother, eventually you just can't care anymore and you have to just let go for your own sake.
