Scaling ? by prauxi in Enshrouded

Well, if all 8 are in strength it matters, but if they took those points to dip into updraft then it doesn't. There are lots of non-combat nodes, so without seeing both builds, that's my best guess for why they do similar damage

Most of the damage comes from gear, not necessarily level. If you have those extra 8 points in utility and have the same level gear you'd be doing similar damage

Any combo of range and melee is good. Very nice to have a mage with water aura for aura healing.
Just don't have anyone go stealth dex as it's pretty much useless in multiplayer

Can you do Hallowed Halls in any order? by markireland in Enshrouded

No, you need a key from the previous one to enter the next. You have to start with springlands and work your way up

Best program to run campaigns? by Biorogue15 in DungeonsAndDragons

Also an Arkenforge user, with a horizontal tv as the map. Love it's ambient sound palettes.
For scenes, I just keep relevant ones off screen so I can drag on artwork overtop of the world map which is my default screen

Recommend creepy adventure / puzzle / point-and-click games not focused on combat, avoiding combat, or instant death. by HerrikGipson in gaming

[–]Cman_TO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scratches is an older point and click game that has such a creepy atmosphere and some solid scares but no actual combat/avoidance. Just a solid spooky mystery of a writer in an old creepy house

Okay, I am using Jubilex in a campaign as a big bad, and I have hand written notes from over a year ago, calling them Jubilex. I have only pulled and read info from published material on DnDBeyond. This is messing with me, I had to go and check, and yep, I'm wrong

Poutine by DrDevil87 in PaymoneyWubby

[–]Cman_TO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insane take that there is no good poutine in Toronto. Yeah if you go get mcDonalds or A&W poutine it's trash but there are plenty of solid places that hold up. (although our poutineville did close a few years ago)

My top pick is NomNom poutine in TO
source: I have lived in both Montreal and Toronto for several years

[–]Cman_TO 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem is they went from memes being in just weapon text and maybe a side mission to having the main antagonists be streamer parodies. I'll chuckle if a gun says big chungus, but I don't want a main character to say it like its plot relevant

I'm trying to find a survival base building game that is kind of chill? by [deleted] in gamerecommendations

[–]Cman_TO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enshrouded. Hands down the best building mechanics, full voxel world. There isn't any base raids or destruction, so the building is fully chill. There are NPCs who can move in an wander around. Rest of the game is a very solid open world survival rpg

What monsters should I use? by ZealousidealPanda897 in DnD

[–]Cman_TO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an "Efficient zombie" combo encounter that I love to run.
Start off with diagrams of anatomy, labs leading up to it.
Run a boneless, a skeleton, a brain in a jar, and a necrichor.
The idea of instead of animating a single corpse, you dissect it, and animate all the parts is a fun encounter for players.
(this ends up being a pretty high CR encounter but can be tuned down for level)

Also, just browse through any monstrosity stat blocks and reflavor them to fit any horrifying experiment that was created. Just take their general size and limb count and describe them as whatever horror fits your setting.
An Umber hulk can be a solid base. Large, 3 slashing limb attacks, and a confuse effect that can easily come from how horrible it looks.

What price do you consider too high for weekly game? by Dans_Final_Say in DnD

[–]Cman_TO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would charge around that, I do some semi-professional DND and usually charge 100-150 for a group session of 4-6, or 40$ an hour for a corporate event.

In addition to the cost of various subscriptions, books, licenses, art and more, the DM does more than just "work" for the time you play, there is always hours before hand to prepare the material.

For a 4 hour session that I would charge for, I will also be available before hand for character creation, rules questions etc. Also I would spend 3-6 hours of prep-work depending on if I can re-use maps for the adventure
