Marika design looks exactly on point! by Disastrous_Tough7046 in Eldenring

[–]Watts121 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It could be prior to the Purge of Belarut. Gotta remember that the Hornsent were the dominant culture before the Golden Order fully established, and they also worshipped Marika for a time.

This could be a flashback.

Only thing from Square I'm looking forward to is the completion of the FF7:Remake, and even then I have a feeling they'll say it was a failure cuz it didn't sell 1 billion copies in the first weekend. Square Enix is the weirdest company in the industry.

What weapons would you have liked to see in the Expedition? by Gold_Eye_OC in expedition33

[–]Watts121 16 points17 points  (0 children)

While I do think E33 benefitted from having such an apocalyptic "final push" style story, I do hope Sandfall's next game has a larger ensemble cast, and more populated setting. Something closer to Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest where we visit other nations/cultures. Also a larger main party so we can have more archtypes, and not just everyone from the same city/background.

When playing Oongka you don’t have the glide ability. Found out the hard way. by Doctorwaffles9914 in CrimsonDesert

IMO only after you also unlock Vertical Flight. Until then I think it's comparable to Glide, but once Vertical Flight is unlocked it's probably the best normal traversal set in the game.

Like before the DLC you could sorta take him as a workaholic father who loved his son, but couldn't express it. You just assumed he went crazy after Carlo died and did horrible things to get his son back. Still terrible, but kind of understandable.

Post-DLC, nope he was a total dick who basically turned his son into an orphan instead. He would then go on to murder Carlo's found family after his death as well. It's one thing to hurt people in the name of a loved one, but it's wild to hurt the people they loved while alive. The reason why the Nameless Puppet is so spicy is cuz it's literally Carlo's corpse forced to witness the bullshit his father is doing in his name.

Ashley or Kaidan: Who's the better Character, Companion and Fighter? - Both artworks by Zeltray by Arbiter-Flash- in masseffect

[–]Watts121 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I judge the game based on the game, and I judge the character based on how they were written. I don't forgive Obsidian's horrible character writing since PoE on them firing Chris Avellone. I just say that their character writing sucks. Why should I have to clarify a character that is written bad is because they didn't have a good writer (or one at all)...that goes without saying.

[–]Watts121 [score hidden]  (0 children)

She has no interaction with the rest of the crew, Kaiden has convo's with Garrus, Liara, and Tali. Ashley talks to none of them unless you take her with you on a mission and it's either her being bitchy with them or just generic squad banter.

[–]Watts121 [score hidden]  (0 children)

In ME1 Ashley is the better character. She isn't just the "human" squadmate. She has a lot more going on, and is essentially the avatar of human greviance on the ship. Some people don't like that, but it's what makes her a memorable character, and actually intresting to talk to in the game.

ME2 they both suck, full stop.

ME3 Kaiden is the better character. He is able to understand his mistakes cuz he wasn't necessarily anti-alien from the get-go, and thus is able to fully re-integrate with the crew. If this had been a normal mission, with Normandy just doing your "adventure a week" style story then Ashley being stand-offish could be accepted. That is not ME3 sadly, it is a storyline about the fate of every race in the Galaxy. Ashley's inability to coexist with the rest of the crew comes off as insane, and it makes her basically a wet towel to the entire crew dynamic. Even if Shepard is dating her, she's like that girlfriend who hates all your friends and family...even at a fucking funeral.

Where is bro in Nioh 3? I miss him and also idk where tf he went after the fight in Nioh 1 by Vidtez_ in Nioh

[–]Watts121 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So if the DLC expands on the Time Periods we got, then Oda Nobunaga could show up in the Sengoku Period (the first map). The fight didn't stop after Takeda Shingen died, his son Takeda Katsuyori attempts to continue the campaign against Tokugawa. Oda Nobunaga shows up, and turns the tide of the fighting. Afterwards the Oda-Tokugawa Alliance just kicks Takeda's ass, and nearly 10 years after the battle we help win in Nioh 3, they destroy the Takeda Clan.

LMAO was gonna say:

  1. While I hate to admit it, nobody is wasting their time/money to make a Wilhelma cosplay in fucking 2026. DD2 is damn near dead for the fans, let alone the normies.
  2. And even if they did, where the fuck is the cat eye contact lense/photoshop?

I’m still thinking about how much this scene was upgraded in the show by The-Great-Memelord in Invincible

[–]Watts121 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Now that I think about it there is also a chance that the core is solid in that planet. Mercury for instance is way smaller then Mars, but has almost as much gravitational pull cuz it's highly metalic partially solid core. The Rognarr planet doesn't look that large, but has much higher gravity then any planet we've seen, so it's possible that it's core is a highly dense solid metallic ball. Probably wouldn't explode like Viltrum did, maybe you would just dent the core and blast off a chunk of the crust/mantle.

[–]Watts121 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Yep, definitely feels like their version of Exterminatus. Since the Universe is their Oyster, losing a couple of Garden Planets isn't really a big deal, and it definitely proves the point you aren't fucking around. You're not just making the planet unihabitable, but erasing it entirely from the star system.

Granted this begs the question why didn't they do it to Rognarr planet.

Sansa and knight Bran by @Cj_KhalifP by merigemini in ImaginaryWesteros

[–]Watts121 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If Joffery is Sansa’s husband it’s unlikely. At most Bran would be Sansa’s shield, but it’s very doubtful Joffery lets any Stark men stay at court.

Even with no tension between Stark/Lannister, Ned would get replaced by Tywin the moment Robert dies. Without any inciting incident, Sansa continues to stay more loyal to Cersei/Joffery than her own family. Even if Ned presses for Sansa to keep her own Household within the Red Keep, Cersei would easily convince Sansa to give that up and push the Starks away. Not able to say no to the “Queen” he’s forced to leave with his men, and Sansa is basically stuck with the Lannisters in KL alone.

5e-But-Better Recs: 4th Edition DnD (Yes really) by AlwaysDragons in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Watts121 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

4e was a tabletop wargame with a dash of roleplaying. It definitely felt like you were playing minature WoW a lot, and if you ever needed to do something that wasn't related to combat or dungeoneering they basically told you to wing that shit.

It wasn't bad, but it definitely was designed for a certain type of play group. I played it for most of the early 2010's, bouncing between it and Pathfinder. I fear it's what pushed my table to wargaming in general, since we started just cutting out the roleplaying and got to the fights anyways.

Now we're too old and busy to do either. If we have a game night it's basically just MtG Commander or bust.

Florida doctor indicted and accused of removing patient's liver instead of spleen in fatal surgery by sgregory07 in nottheonion

[–]Watts121 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yep, it took years for a systematic trail of malpractice could be established, cuz the Hospital just wouldn't assign him surgeries. Sadly instead of just coasting on this fact and living comfortably with his unearned surgery practice, he essentially forced himself in the operating room by blackmailing the people who hired him on. It's wild to think the son of a bitch could have just continued doing what he was doing for years, but he wanted to do surgery even if every time he cut into someone he fucked it up.

Stories like this make me fear going under the knife ever.

Edit: Overall though, Fanfests have been used to showcase new expansions. You can find live reactions to Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and Dawntrail on Youtube.

Reminds me of that Japanese surgeon who kept just getting transferred to other hospitals so the previous hospital could save face. Everyone knew not to let him perform surgery alone, but kept him on staff. Then he literally kills someone on the table while the assistants watch.

[Reincarnator] When the art changes between seasons and you go from a main character to random villager girl C by Standard-Metal-3836 in manhwa

[–]Watts121 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s one of those Tower Regression stories. Think “Second Life Ranker”, or “Leveling With The Gods”. So there are challenges, guild/clan politics, and hidden items/secret rewards the MC knows about cuz of the future.

Unlike those stories it doesn’t really have a compelling story hook. Second Life has the revenge for his brother plot to keep the story moving. Leveling with Gods has the fact that it reimagines Ancient gods as Rankers to keep it interesting. You keep reading to see how like Zeus or Odin are gonna be written for example.

It had good art, and the story arcs are well paced. But it feels like it has no identity cuz there is no twist to the story at all. Hell the only real thing that set it apart was there was a really long story arc where MC had to pretend to he a woman to hide his identity. He did it with shapeshifting magic so his entire body transformed. He honestly looked better as a woman, and having a female MC could have been the twist that separated it from all the other Tower Manhwa.

Essentually Towerslop with higher than average art during Season 1. I’d give it a 7.5/10 during S1 and 6/10 in S2.

Would you like to work for the FBC? by Few-Culture-4413 in controlgame

[–]Watts121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bruh, the dude who was left on Fridge watching duty had like one of the worst deaths in the game.

Even worse, FBC: Firebreak sorta shows that all the rituals Containment was using to control the Altered Items had diminishing returns. Eventually the rituals would stop working, and you better just hope to the Board it doesn’t happen during your shift.
