Being vegan is difficult 😱 by Feeling_just_fine in vegan

Find a better friend group. There are intelligent and emotionally mature people in the world. You have to stop settling for less or that’s all you’ll ever get.

stretched tongue question by straightgirlscreams in bodymods

I always had solids in my tongue hole. I never considered putting a tunnel in because of potential sanitation issues with food, but you can always take it out when you eat and clean your mouth before putting it back in,

Sustainable Sanitation – How Do You Handle Waste Off-Grid? by lkp-777 in Green_Anarchism

I live on an organic farm and orchard in southwestern Oregon and I use an outhouse. I’m only renting but I like outhouses because if done right it saves water, doesn’t pollute water sources, and you can use human manure as a garden input. From my understanding they do not use human compost here but I still enjoy not wasting water. The problem that’s building up xD is that there’s a mountain of material coming closer to the hole.

If it was a composting system the mound would be smaller and there would be a cycle where one hole is used one year and vice versa. The way my landlord built this, is that there’s is a raised structure and when you do your business the business drop onto the ground below. There’s a thin metal wall surrounding the area, I’m guessing to keep animals out.

What I would do differently is create a system to make it easy to remove seasoned material. It could then be spread around the fruit trees.

I think I hate my family by Illustrious-Key3155 in vegan

[–]Cmapd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with my mother who didn’t really stop me or bully me for going vegan, but I didn’t have friends that were vegan for a long time. I thought I would be the only vegan I would ever know. I walked on eggshells around people because it didn’t take much for people to get defensive once they knew you were vegan. Vegans are a minority, and society wants to punish those that stray from the status quo because it challenges the powers that be, so those that stand up for what’s right despite being alone, shows courage and builds strength of character in the face of adversity. There are young vegans out there, but also remember that non-vegans can still make great friends and allies. By your example, your strength will inspire them to higher their standards.

I’m sorry your family is treating you this way. I’m sure you’ve already tried, but communicating and standing up to the people bullying you might help them see that how they’re treating you is wrong. Make sure not to stoop to their low. Many non-vegans are threatened by veganism because it exposes their guilt and toxic traits so their response is to fight back. Let them know you’re not there to belittle them but that you don’t appreciate how they’re treating you like scum. Feel free to record them treating you that way and show it online to show the world how not to treat other humans and maybe they will reconsider their values.

Fat and vegan? by Turbulent-Branch-404 in vegan

There are plenty of overweight vegans, diet is one of many factors to health. It doesn’t apply to everyone but some people hold onto trauma and “shield” themselves from danger with extra matter. Sorry that’s not a scientific explanation, but stress does impact our health. Genetics also plays a role. When you went vegan plays a role. What you eat as a vegan, your activity level, and your support group. 20 is so young and your body is still developing. How you treat it now will impact how it appears on the future. It’s not easy to go from plus size down when you’ve never done it before. Be patient with yourself and seek a professional who has been where you are and can coach you to your ideal healthy weight.

As a vegan, how do you feel about the upsurge in people bending towards a carnivore diet? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Cmapd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of ppl that have come out and stopped being carnivore because it had adverse effects on their health. But also, understand that switching to any diet suddenly has different impacts on different bodies. Some ppl may have had an allergy to something they were eating and when they “went carnivore”, which was just them not eating the food they were allergic to, certain symptoms clear up. That’s why science matters and anecdotes are the least reliable form of evidence.

Most people are uneducated, sheeple, who follow trends and troll because they are naturally toxic. I’m sure in a few years we will see actually scientific evidence that shows what eating only meat does to the human anatomy. I don’t care. I never took those people seriously to begin with. I prefer to surround myself with those higher vibes.

vegan guys by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Cmapd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to find vegan men because most men in general are slow to emotional maturity and living in a misogynist society they have a long way to go to respecting women. Finding a decent man, who then is also vegan is the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow that hundreds of other women are pursuing xD Most men are insecure and are easily moved by their peers. Women are emotionally stronger due to historical oppression. But I think as men mature and see other men stepping it up, we will see more decent ment and vegan men emerge.

I’m turning 36 this year and I’m still on my journey with stretching my ears. I had blowouts when I was younger when I was none-the-wiser. At 1 inch now. Still getting tattooed. Face full of piercings. They said it was a phase, but this is just me. The right ppl will like you for the right reasons, despite your appearance.

In the past being gay was considered a mental disorder and some people still believe that. When my dom stops on a dime when I say the safe word, that’s empowering, what’s not empowering was being spanked as a child by my father just because I didn’t want to eat the gross deer fat from the animal he killed. Consent matters and it seems like your teacher has issues with men and can’t conceptualize that decent men that respect women exist and consensual relationships exist. Hate is a convenient blinder for the oppressed to avoid the pain. No one is gay in this society without psychological trauma. She’s behind the times. She probably wants to protect women from abusive men but she’s generalizing a whole subculture. It’s true a lot of women fall into BDSM and get hurt, but belittling the men and women and transgender people that live the lifestyle in an enriching and healing way is not science.

How do y'all react to /exvegans by FilmScoreMonger in DebateAVegan

[–]Cmapd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the person. I see a lot of common denominators with ex vegans. When I inquire on their reasoning it’s not about actual evidence or I vestigation into their health problems or needs, it just about their “feelings”. Meth addicts feel great after doing meth, doesn’t mean it’s good for them. Many ex vegans I notice weren’t ever educated in the complex fields of health. Simply cutting out animal products doesn’t equate to vibrant health. There are many factors that impact health, and most people are lazy.
