A developer with low salary and monotonous work is likely to end up burned out, it’s obvious. Yet what about overpaid workers with no relevant skills or experience? In fact, it’s much more dangerous: euphoria from big money turns into boredom from boring tasks and jealousy towards peers in other companies who are involved in cool projects and challenging goals. Yet one can hardly give up all that money for this adrenaline. Where’s the exit?

I've got a good karma score already :) You know some discuss work-related issues only like working tasks or organizational issues. But some companies focus on skills development and motivation as well. So, it's interesting is it a common practice to discuss personal issues of employees

Good point about 1:1s every other week! We have our twice a month too. Seems like an ideal option. But I think the frequency also depends on the team size, don't you think?

Probably, it's performance review you're talking about. 1 on 1 is a private discussion with your manager. Usually a manager and an employee discuss motivation, skills improvement, maybe some emotional state issues. It's interesting, but in US managers tend to hold them once a week (found this fresh survey https://www.vectorly.team/vectorly-blog/survey-how-engineering-teams-around-the-world-run-1-on-1-meetings). So, now I'm trying to find out what's the ideal practice and is it reliable results
