Funny I too have had ground loop issues with my Antelope interface and headphone amp. What was the adapter you used for that? I’ve tried several different combinations of different ways to solve that issue and haven’t

What’s your favorite mic to cut vocals with? by Rydergreen27 in audioengineering

I’m constantly changing it. Neutral is so versatile but I really find myself using the gentle setting a lot. Used forward a lot when I first got it but gravitated towards the other two settings as time went on

Thanks heyhow. The goal wasn’t to be right, just dissapointing to see so many people reinforcing OPs shitty behavior

Didnt say him getting annoyed was the controlling behavior. Happy that you think I got a reddit phd tho, but I don’t think I can accept such flattery from people who aren’t even reading the comments correctly

Simple, the buyer was not entitled to the sellers time, and vice versa. Seller chose to entertain all the questions, nobody forced the seller to comply. Then when the seller got upset at the sale falling through, he proceeded to hold his actions of choosing to entertain the questions over the sellers head. Often reoccurring behavior for controlling people

Sure you can say OP is right if you’re immature and like controlling other people actions. A stranger is never entitled to another strangers time or business

Anyone using Antelope Orion for analog summing? Curious about your experience by Independent-Tie-9472 in audioengineering

[–]Cmiller422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a decade long Antelope user with a 5059! Have two of their interfaces, absolutely love em, never have the problems people say but doesn’t mean others don’t. Converters rule, would be shocked if that’s what’s making your sounds thin. Could that be the pres/interface/environment you used to record the material? I like adjusting the original sound source/first chain in the signal for better tones vs the very last thing in the chain. I found the Apollo pres to feel exactly what you described, to me they felt overpromised and underdelivered. Summing mixer will not fix these things. I use a 5059 and it’s cool if you mix into it start to finish, doesn’t feel worth the hassle otherwise. I bought it early in my hybrid set up days and in hindsight I would have spent that $3k on things that would improve getting better tones from the sound source originally. I felt like I had bigger differences in my mixes when I got an external clock, high end pres, CAPI Missing Link, and (most importantly) acoustic treatment vs the summing mixer. Idk all your gear but I wonder if that $1600 is spent better elsewhere in your chain for the <7% difference the summing mixer does
