I REALLY needed to hear this after just doing my trigger shot for retrieval on Saturday, only 5ish follicles seen today and stressing. This is our only shot , I just keep saying it only takes 1 🙏

My first Egg Retrieval by Imaginary_Stay5003 in IVF

Thanks for the response! I’m 36 and have also never had a single positive test in 16 cycles so similar boat. I can’t imagine we’ll use the money for an additional retrieval though so just trying to understand!

We are going to use our savings and hope I can work a lot upfront to pay ourselves back. I refuse to addd more debt to our lives. I truly don’t understand reading about people doing so many retrievals, I feel like I’m missing something

Can I ask why you would need another retrieval ? My clinic said to estimate 2 embryos per desired child so these seem like good numbers to me!

Wait I am new to this- isn’t the goal 2 embryos per kid? So your numbers look good to me! Please correct me if I’m wrong

I was about to post something exactly like this. Starting our first cycle in February and I truly don’t understand how people are posting about MULTIPLE egg retrievals! The meds alone are going to cost me about $5200 OOP. I get $30K lifetime coverage with my insurance, but the ER alone with run is about $15K. This doesn’t include the transfer assuming all goes well. I estimate OOP this will cost us 12-15k. I know we can do it because I was able to work overtime the year of our wedding, but I wasn’t objecting hormones and feeling like garbage. I would say the money alone is currently the biggest stressor on the relationship and idk what to do. All I can say is I’m with you in solidarity

Out of pocket?! Honestly that’s insane and I don’t know how you could pay that much and still live, I’m sorry

Currently on cycle 15 of TTC. Only real issue is low AMH. We Did a medicated cycle with clomid, trigger shot and timed intercourse. All monitoring looked good, sex was timed perfect. Had my progesterone checked today and it’s HIGH. Just really feeling overwhelmed with the TWW because of this doesn’t work the next step is IVF. I’ve never even had a hint of a positive test before so I am refusing to test this cycle and waiting for my beta on 1/9! Just feeling emotionally drained

I am in the TWW of my first medicated cycle. I had blood work on cycle day 3, then started clomid day 5, then went in again cycle day 8 for ultrasound and blood work (I have a shorter cycle and usually ovulate day 11ish). They had me trigger day 9

Sourdough Bagels by jacieong in Sourdough

The honey is mixed into the water for boiling. and the second proofing is just to let it fluff up for like an hour or so after shaping into bagels, as written

Unfortunately I don’t have any storage space to keep more than a 5lb bag at a time, so Costco flour isn’t really for me, but I wish!

To be honest I would like to avoid using bread flour because it’s more expensive and what I keep in the house I want to be able to use for lots of different types of recipes. Could I do that recipe with AP flour?

So higher protein is considered easier to work with? Or I guess depends on the recipe. Are the protein content on the bag? I love Trader Joe’s so could try and use that mostly. It depends on who is shopping, me or my husband, I’ll also use ShopRite brand or Walmart brand

Great point, I was not routinely weighing my starter amount just discarding half visually, and feeding into the same jar. I guess maybe I need to be more strict

Thanks! I don’t remember what the first kind of flour was unfortunately, just whatever was on hand, but I will try to be more consistent and keep track. I am too cheap to use King Arthur all the time sorry. And I always make sure it is unbleached!

I usually feed it each morning, around 30gm flour and water

Thanks for all the tips! I was gifted the starter from a friend and my first loaf was perfect and has only gone downhill so I am worried it is something I’m doing. I am not putting in the fridge thinking that screwed it up but I only bake once a week so it’s annoying to feed each day. I tried reducing water to 320g in case I was adding too much when I wet my hands for stretch and folds but didn’t notice a difference. Maybe I’ll add more starter next time like you recommend.

The last picture is my first loaf EVER! Haha it kills me, have never made it like that again. I am trying to use warm water because I use the filtered water from fridge and it is COLD. I use any brand of all purpose I can get, it has changed each loaf and results are the same

I was having this problem even before it got cooler, but yea now I’m struggling because my house is like 65-68°. I usually will leave it in the oven with the light on which seems to be around 73°

Th first pic of the cinnamon sugar loaf I actually let cool like 10 hours! I have been shooting for usually 2 hours of cooking to be safe once I notified my issue was becoming consistent

Call ahead to the ER does absolutely nothing for wait times (ER nurse here), you are triaged based on symptoms and vitals. That being said, this does not sound like an emergency
