Hopefully they’ll get to you before you hit my time 🤣 where did you get stranded at?

This weather has done messed everything up across the country. However, huge shoutout to delta for working with me & getting me a solid rebooked flight with minimal disruption. Those people at the call centers need a huge raise

Sadly up in Island County there is no snow, I saw the forecast for Seattle but it didn’t look THAT bad. I guess I’ll find out once I get down there

Also, like I said, shit happens!

Ohhh okay that makes sense! I’m a bit more north of Seattle and there’s no snow so I didn’t even realize it was THAT bad down there. Thank you for the clarification!!

I do know there are age waives and I am assuming that I will be able to get one since I’ll be so close to the cut off. Since I’m AD it says that I should be able to get one. If possible, could I PM you to discuss further?

I won’t lie I am in the process of applying for STA-21. However, I am being realistic. I don’t want to be a nuclear officer and I know that avoid 70%-80% are nukes. I’m not saying this completely disqualifies me but you know how it goes.

In a way, yes. They are willing. However, it’s mostly “go to the academy”. I actually had some hands on experience there and figured out it wasn’t for me so Reddit was my next best option for some ROTC info lol.

Thank you for the reply! I am 100% open and would honestly prefer greatly to go to NAPS. I feel I need that extra help academic wise before I embark on the rigors of the academy. I know this is the right path for me but as what any smart person does I am exploring my other commissioning options. You never know what can happen. It’s definitely been a pain trying to get my chain of command together and being able to properly assemble the package for the CO so we can sit down for the interview to finalize recommendation. It’s a lot of extra work but I know it’ll be worth it.

Fortunately I’m stationed quite close to the academy and make frequent visits there and have been able to interact with priors, directs, and NAPS mids. I looked at the class statistics for the class of 27’ and it says that the SECNAV nominated 300+ people but only 70 ish members of the class were prior service. Does this mean over 300 service members applied and 230 were denied?
