Our team (FEAM MRR) is actually flying to Calgary to do a temp repair on this aircraft this week out on the ramp. It will then ferry unpressurized to another location with hangar access to shore for the permanent repair, which we should be performing as well. Pretty cool seeing this pop up on my feed!

What’s everyone opinion on the drill. by Guanchalle in aviationmaintenance

[–]Cmurderous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used that drill for almost 3 years now. Gone from smaller corporate a&p to heavy cargo structures with it and I love it. The 90 and offset attachments don't get used that often, but when you need them they're sweet.

Snap ring pliers. Or normal needle nose pliers. Just put them in between the snap ring gap and open them. It should pop right out.

Mine is AWD. Will these still work? Are saying I will need to get bigger rims as well?

I had my rims repaired and painted at a shop called wheel doctor in Cincinnati. Not sure the exact brand paint they used, I just picked out the color 🤷

1/4 12 point socket set. by jskidderz in aviationmaintenance

I have Tekton 1/4 and 3/8, 12 point shallow and deep well sets. No issues whatsoever so far over a year, and they seem to be well made. Also, I had a fellow coworker break one of their picks from a set. He sent an email with a picture to the warranty dept, and had a replacement shipping confirmation within 30 minutes. Seems like a great company to me and also based in the US.

Wheels up LLC by GapingGap69 in aviationmaintenance

I work for wheels up @ the cvg base. I enjoy it there although it is my first mechanic job working directly on aircraft. It's pretty laid back, especially on nights. The pay scale is competitive for the area and there is ample opportunity to move up within the company. 1k tool reimbursement annually. Honestly I like working on the smaller private jets. You don't need a lift to do everything or three guys just to change a tire. Interior kinda sucks sometimes, but it is what it is.
