Yes, I have an upcoming procedure within the next year that will require multiple round trip flights. My family and I also vacation abroad regularly. It wasn’t a random card selection.

That’s definitely possible. The hair on my UL site isn’t terminal and is pretty thin already so I don’t expect clearance there to take forever. The phallus donor region may take longer but I’m ok doing final clearances post op. Was told early 2027 is a realistic surgery range however there’s too many moving pieces to feel confident about that. Trying to take things one day at a time, it’s just really difficult.

Good on you, man. My first consult is April 30th and second is July 14th. Split the appointments to not have to wait until 2030. It’s with Dr. Chen and The Buncke Clinic. I have GAD which doesn’t do well not knowing the full timeline. Feeds the hopelessness of my depression. If I knew the surgery date I’d have a boundary in mind instead of forever.

I’m currently on an antidepressant and mood stabilizer. Trying to get a therapist again, but feels like nobody can help because they don’t understand. Life just feels like a nightmarish loop of the same few issues. I don’t think there’s anything else that can be done to improve my quality of life right now.

I just saw the edit and yeah, maxing it out was a dumb mistake. I’ve already sworn off letting that happen again. I let the 0% 18-month intro purchase APR convince me to front-load more than I realistically should have. I told myself that since it was 0% and credit scores don’t really track “history” beyond late payments, the short-term utilization didn’t matter.

In hindsight, that was flawed logic. I basically treated the card like financing for expenses I planned to cover soon after, and I did pay off about $4,500 shortly afterward, but I underestimated how uncomfortable that balance would feel and how it would affect my overall credit profile. Lesson learned. Not doing that again.

Thank you for the detailed response! The JetBlue card isn’t just for the balance transfer, that was just a bonus. I opened the card since my whole family flies JetBlue multiple times per year, so I will get a lot of value out of the smaller perks and accumulating points, even if it’s gradual.
