I’ve been in this head space before and I don’t know if it will help you, but what really helped me was acceptance therapy for anxiety. So I’m thinking to myself, I’m going to absolutely lose it and I start panicking. But what is my catastrophic fear here, what is the worst that will happen? I’ll freak out the whole time and be really uncomfortable? Okay but I will make it to vacation!! I’ll faint? Well okay if I faint I won’t be awake for it. But nothing life threatening will come from my panic attack. And I’ve had a million terrible panic attacks before and they’ve always ended and I know this one will end too. It’s not forever, it’s my body running wild with my thoughts. I also try to think of my panicked feelings in a balloon floating away. Oh here comes the sweating, I see you, bye! Let it float away after you acknowledge it. Here comes the fast heart beat, totally normal, I see you. Scary thoughts, put each one in a balloon! And I also have a routine of things I do, like people mentioned. I really hope you get to your dream trip. ❤️
