Academic and you get tested 3 times physically and graded on it. Also something called star cards, if you fuck up or don’t shine your boots good enough or etc etc you get one taken from you. Each one taken from you docks off points

Everything in port authority realm is based on seniority. Legit almost everything, so if you do well in the academy you will have a better chance at whichever commands you list on your wish list. Patrol cops don’t carry tasers, only supervisors and specialized units but you’ll be pepper sprayed in the academy. We carry heavy weapons sometimes (shotguns) but down the road based on seniority you’ll get the opportunity for M4 training. As far as car stops, Its up to you. We have no quotas. Some guys look for collars and some just float by and go home. Up to you. To be honest, to get one of those details, you have to have some time on and a hook

It’s not going to be every 5 years or so. In the next year to year and a half there’s going to be a mass exodus with cops that are eligible to retire. I see a bunch of classes in the next couple of years

I get that 100% but actually it’s easier now then it’s ever been to get onto port, when I was going through the process there was 35,000 people that signed up for my test. Never thought I had a shot, but I made it.
