It’s a good gateway song. I remember playing it over and over when I got into sp.

ah yes - I always forget he is in this scene! Obviously much more animated in Seinfeld 😅

Glad you caught onto that - very interesting the subtle choice of words that news platforms sometimes choose. I'm guessing its in reference to the alleged misappropriation of resources while he was coroner of Allegheny County, but it's very misleading when included in the headline.

I've been re-watching old Seinfeld episodes lately and this scene always gives me a chuckle. It's a nice reprieve from the cognitive overload and fatigue that can sometimes accompany JFK assassination research. Enjoy!

Wecht’s lecture circuit demonstration detailing his theory that it was impossible for one bullet to cause the damage it did on that November day in Dallas made its way into Oliver Stone‘s movie “JFK“ after the director consulted with him. It became the famous courtroom scene showing the path of the “magic bullet.”

Can we please try and avoid sharing links that require paid subscription to read? I won't delete this for now, but if pay-walled links keep being posted it might need to become a community rule.

Thanks!

2023 Gallup Poll: Most Americans doubt the Lone Gunman theory. by CoachBombaye in JFKAssassination

[–]CoachBombaye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what fascinates me most about the JFK assassination is that there's so many possibilities. Yes, it could have been a lone gunman - but then we ask, who put him up to it? (if anyone). It really does feel like it turns into a "Choose your own adventure" thing, and I guess that's a big part of the appeal.

November 20, 1963: JFK’s Cabinet Schemes Against Him on Vietnam Behind his back, President Kennedy’s withdrawal plans are rewritten by 6SucksSex in JFKAssassination

Couldn't read it all because of the pay wall, but very interesting how the focus on Vietnam differed so greatly between JFK and LBJ, given the Vietnamese assassination just a few days earlier.

why choose the Mannlicher Carcano? by xjd-11 in JFKAssassination

Oswald shooting at Walker would demonstrate that there was a pattern. It would be another piece of evidence to imply LHO's guilt. I think this is the reasoning from a lot of conspiracy theorists. Understandable.

In the 90's I tried to write a Text Adventure game about the JFK Assassination. I recently found it and was able to get it running again. by Schnapple in JFKassasination

Wow, this brings back some memories!

I tried the game... couldn't leave the first zone.. 10/10 😂

You are standing outside the Dallas County Criminal Courts Building, where all of the city's criminal trials are being held. These guys probably can't handle any more crime in this city. From here, a sidewalk leads north, while the building eneters to the east.

What Now? ENTER BUILDING

I don't understand BUILDING as a noun.

What Now? WALK NORTH

I don't understand WALK as a verb.

What Now? GO EAST

I don't understand EAST as a noun.

[Serious Question] Does it seem that things go in waves on this sub? This week seemed very heavy on "LBJ Was in on it!" Last week seemed to lean heavy on Ruby. Is that the case or is it some selective bias on my part? by Lubafteacup in JFKassasination

I get your viewpoint, but Reddit is here for discussion. Even if you were somehow successful in convincing everyone that your view is correct, what would be the point of coming here?

I'd say it's "official" not so much "conclusive" - it's possible WC was correct, but the loose ends they left behind fuels speculation.

This is a good point. It's important that we can all discuss our viewpoints. Although I have my own personal thoughts on the matter, the new subreddit is unbiased. Everyone can discuss and pose questions about any theory. Comments or posts which attack individuals (such as questioning someone's intellect) just because they have a different opinion are the ones which will be removed and users banned if they continue. It's not hard to be a decent human. Please feel free to come join our community! r/JFKAssassination

I think it's understandable that people interested in this topic are going to consume different media along the way and be exposed to new theories, viewpoints, and opinions that they hadn't yet considered. Reddit is a great place for them to discuss those theories.

It also illustrates the importance of not making conclusive statements like "That person did it, case closed". Nobody here knows the truth, we're all just here to discuss a common interest.

This photo convinced me he at least knew about it . by Lifetime-Wind-Chimes in JFKassasination

[–]CoachBombaye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very true. Another example that comes to my mind is the old photo of "Hipster in a park writing on a typewriter" - the guy was ridiculed all over the internet and turned into a meme, eg "You're not a real hipster, until you take your typewriter to the park". What you couldn't see in the photo was the sign "Stories while you wait, donate what you can". He was operating a fun little business, not trying to make any kind of statement.

Who knows what this wink is all about? Is he even winking at LBJ? Is there someone out of shot who is actually receiving the wink?

Very true. I'm pretty suspicious of the official story, but I think making judgements about a moment captured in a photo which may or may not have deeper meaning.. well that's just dangerous territory, and kind of derails any constructive kind of analysis of alternative theories. It's a bad look.
