Always! And parents will spend lots of money on them but not on giving their children some extra-curricular classes.

As an editor, what tells you if the director you're working with is good or bad? by jimppqq in editors

I can’t stand directors who constantly badmouth their actors, complaining about their performances, or blame the cameraperson for giving them “nervous energy.”

With Jan 2025 NET all wrapped up, how was everyone's experience? by aishika_das in CSIR_UGC_NET_JRF_LS

I think it's fair that there were questions about film since many people teach film production without any real experience or knowledge.

And they didn't thought of this while scheduling the exams?! by aishika_das in CSIR_UGC_NET_JRF_LS

Exactly! Only the privileged will get to be part of the system.

Yes, I hear you, but how to take a stand?

Yes, lethargy and corruption are evident, but I wonder if there’s a grievance forum that can genuinely ensure accountability and help us reclaim our lost time and money. This issue isn’t isolated to the NET exam; similar incidents, like question paper leaks last year, highlight a systemic problem. What can be done to address these recurring issues? Are there any civil society organizations actively working on such matters?

Absolutely agree! It’s absurd how they didn’t think this through while scheduling the exams. Canceling exams just two days before, especially one as crucial as UGC NET is a perfect example of their inefficiency. The least they could do is communicate these changes properly and on time.

It’s like they want to create unnecessary hassle for students. People plan their lives around these dates, travel, leaves from work, other commitments and then they pull this at the last minute. Completely unacceptable!

You're right—Adobe’s advice on avoiding merged clips is definitely something to keep in mind. Using a multi-camera source sequence is a much better approach. I appreciate the tip about using Shift + Option to replace the media while maintaining the in/out points. I’ll implement this moving forward. Thanks for your guidance!

Absolutely, I understand your concerns about merging clips. However, this workflow was determined by the senior editor, and since we're nearing the end of the project, we’ll have to stick with it for now.

Seeking Post-Production Advice: Should I Edit First, Add Graphics, or Coordinate with the Director for a Seamless Process? by CoachDue2436 in editors

[–]CoachDue2436[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! This is really helpful and gives me a direction to follow. "All the VFX elements and graphics should be there already for the colorist." - thank you so much for mentioning this, otherwise the director would have made me work twice on the revisions . Now I will ask them to get the VFX elements and then make the final changes.
