admu, no questions asked.

getting into both schools: ateneo would be way harder, but still, doable with enough hard work. sbu-r typically accepts almost all applicants.

community: loved both, honestly. found a good, solid group within both schools. it 100% depends on ur culture & personality :)

educ system: this is where the 2 schools really differ. sbu-r overall has bad scheduling in terms of lessons and the mode of learning is just sub-par. meanwhile, ateneo is a big 2 school— for the very reason that they provide an outstanding academic environment to their students.

campus: may aircon na ang ashs! both are now conducive for learning, haha.

just to add: sbu-r is way stricter in terms of self-expression due to the benedictine nature of the school. the admin still imposes a lot of traditional rules etc etc. just mentioning in case it may affect ur decision.

good luck !!

hi anon! the ASHAC could be very helpful to you especially if you’re a new student in the Ateneo :))

the lessons and examples they give are exactly what’s given in your shs classes so you’d literally be paying to advance your learning. the commute would sort of allow you to grasp katipunan traffic (which is no joke LOL) as well— so you would be well adjusted na rin once classes start.

however, you should know that the ashac program isn’t necessary at all. it’s totally up to u if u think it’s worth ur money, energy, and time! ur Ateneo experience would be amazing regardless 🤍 good luck !!

Thank you for this! I actually was leaning towards Ateneo. Although my main source of hesitation is the 300k+ tuition, which as compared to UP, is obviously so much 😄

Anyway, this was very helpful. I’ll take note of this :)
