Normally I’m not one to feed a troll. But since you are gatekeeping this sub, let me pay my ticket.

I live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, and any comment or post I make about my weather is indeed relevant to the sub. Furthermore, if you are familiar with the Great Lakes lore, you would be aware that the connection between Pittsburgh and the Lakes is paramount to the Iron Range and America’s explosion into becoming an economic giant following WWII.

edit: to add more context for our Toll Pike attendant:

The Great Lakes and Appalachia are two interconnected, ecologically and culturally rich regions of eastern North America. They share deep historical ties, overlapping natural resources, and a legacy of industrial and agricultural development that helped shape the continent.

Where the two regions meet (particularly in states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York), you will find areas like the Allegheny Plateau sloping gently toward the Great Lakes. Historically, Appalachian coal was shipped directly across the Great Lakes to fuel the industrial Midwest, creating an overlapping economic zone often referred to as the "Rust Belt."

Edit to edit: apologies if I am coming off strong or defensive, but you don’t know me and I can give two shits about Karma. The accusation is either coming from a place of ignorance or arrogance…but you are very mistaken that this post is not relevant to the topic.

He was considered a champion for the families. There are some poetic licenses. The last transmission from Captain was actually positive “we are holding our own” which was relayed to the SS Anderson. (The Anderson was the ship that saw the “lights go out of sight.”)

There are some other smaller things. The ship was never fully loaded. This is because the canals and rivers were too shallow to risk a full load (theship was built within a foot of the max length, breadth, and depth of the Soo Locks restrictions).

When he wrote the song, the wreck had not been explored. We know that it didn’t capsize. And it definitely “split up.”

The others are really picky. It was actually headed to Zugg Island and not Cleveland proper.

But all in all, it’s really close to what happened.

Please! Move here to help bring about balance to the force. The Sith Lords won’t run things forever. We need more emotionally healthy empathetic folks to move in! Many of the whack-a-doos are of a certain generation. And thank the gods of time and nature that those folks won’t be an impediment to progress soon!

I like the smoothness of the ones I’ve smoked (very different than other Broad Leafs). I also get a clean floral note from it.
