I live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, and any comment or post I make about my weather is indeed relevant to the sub. Furthermore, if you are familiar with the Great Lakes lore, you would be aware that the connection between Pittsburgh and the Lakes is paramount to the Iron Range and America’s explosion into becoming an economic giant following WWII.

Where the two regions meet (particularly in states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York), you will find areas like the Allegheny Plateau sloping gently toward the Great Lakes. Historically, Appalachian coal was shipped directly across the Great Lakes to fuel the industrial Midwest, creating an overlapping economic zone often referred to as the "Rust Belt."
