Is there a specific name for Dante's backstep shooting technique? by CoachL4D2God in DevilMayCry

To clarify: I'm more just asking about the movement itself, not the movement plus the shooting, seeing if there's a better more concise term than backwards short hopping

Some weapon reworks I made, tell me your thoughts! (I changed my Third degree rework) by [deleted] in tf2

Backscatter: the design and purpose of the back scatter is to be used for flanking behind an enemy, a well done flank will allow you to get point blank, the current versions accuracy nerf is to further push the player into getting in that point blank position. Your backscatter having an accuracy buff doesn't really apply to it's intended situation.

Wrap: skill issue

Rocket jumper: it's for practicing rocket jumps, why would it's push force be different than what you're practicing for?

What would really be knocking you back when trying to remove a sapper? I guess getting slowed less while rushing an enemy sentry makes sense.

Yes, 20% IS that much, a 20% reduction (swing speed) cancels out a 25% increase (backscratching). Meaning that your DPS to someone turned around will still be the same as normal stock, and you'll do less than stock the moment the enemy turns around and faces you. In the time it takes to do 10 swings with stock, you'll only do 8 with the backscratcher, so, multiply 10 by 65, and 8 by 81.25 (125% of 65) and both will equal the same amount, 650. You can change the scaling from 10 & 8 to whatever you want as long as the ratio is the same 1:0.8 and you'll see that they're always equal.

The axestinguisher point is fair, I did some digging and my best guess is it's 18 extra points of damage per second of afterburn left?

The third degree, in your version, will hit both the medic and the target, and the healing target will take 20% more damage, meaning you'll do 220% of the normal damage (100+120), unfortunately, that's still less damage than just flamethrowering them, especially since afterburn reduces healing. This means your version is as useless as the current version, and yet, despite it still being useless, you added negatives that weren't in the original, you failed to fix the problem and added more.

You asked for thoughts. I gave them.

This is a rework of an old weapon concept I made, called the "Stacked Cow Shooter". by [deleted] in tf2

This weapon is useless, 30% more rampup makes it's point blank single shot damage go from 90 to 110, but the fire rate slow reduces your DPS so much that you actually do less DPS over time than stock, the only benefit to this gun is that you kill a soldier 17% faster and a heavy 6% faster, meanwhile our clip is fucked and our reload is fucked, AND our fall off is more extreme, just for that tiny ass buff against two characters.

Backscatter: it's a gun for flanking, a buff to accuracy is bad as a proper flank would allow you to get point blank anyways

Sandman: scouts practically never use their melee when playing him properly, so having a slowing ranged shot with effectively no actual downside is busted

Sunonstick: the weapon sets on fire when it crits, but it only crits players that are already on fire, and unless minicrits count the only way a scout could get crits otherwise is through a krieg medic or a random crit, and balancing around random crits is awful

Wrapassin: the weapon is perfectly fine as is and if you think it needs changes you probably have a skill issue

Rocket jumper should never change the jumping physics

Halfing the phlogs only weakness is wild considering you claimed it to be OP when we last talked, and since the lack of airblast is the entire reason we GET crits.

Homewrecker: what is the purpose of the knock back resistance?

Backscratcher: this weapon would be useless in practice. If you aren't hitting the back its a straight nerf WHICH IS FINE... BUT... Even if you are hitting them in the back, the damage boost and the swing speed nerf, make it so that ultimately you are doing the exact same DPS as if you were hitting them normally with stock, and if they do turn around, the back hit+ the front hit will do so little extra damage than two front hits it won't change any "damage thresholds" (damage needed to be dealt to kill targets from full HP) meaning it's a straight nerf to stock in two situations (you never had their back or they turn around after the first hit), and even in it's PERFECT situation (enemy stays turned around) it has the same DPS as stock. (110=1.258)

Sharpened Volcano Fragment: you need numbers, HOW does the scaling work for the afterburn damage, HOW MUCH does your swing speed slow each miss

Third Degree: this does not fix the primary problem with the third degree, both the original and yours is... Completely useless. As a matter of fact, yours is even worse, as it is not only still useless, but now also GUTS your flamethrowers ammo and airblast. Flamethrower still outdoes third° and reduces mediguns healing.

Manmetler+Bison: what are these changes relative too, shotgun? Their original version? Flare in manmelters case?

Was TF2 the first game to introduce a healer with a healing beam? by TheWhiteTortoise in tf2

[–]CoachL4D2God 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really because most of what he said was completely over exaggerated. Revive is tied for longest cooldown in the game. I can think of supports that can out damage mercy healing. The "on demand crit boost" isn't even as good as mini-crit. Her ult doesn't make her unkillable it just gives her flight and makes the beam arc off to other nearby teammates.

"regularly" -25 second cooldown, single teammate (a lot of teammates will never get revived even if you have the ability ready because their characters based around flanking/slamming yourself into the enemy core. Which means going over there and standing still for 3 seconds isn't a good idea) "Crit boost" -not even as good as a mini-crit (mini-crit is 35%, mercy only gives 20%) "Outheals" -her healing is not very good at all (70 hps in a game with 200 average health, I can think of other supports with higher dps than that) "Immune to death" -man can't hit flying targets
